When the bell rang at the end of the day, Monica rushed to her locker. She tried to get into her locker, but their was another crowd. She pushed through the crowd to see what was going on. She saw Nick trying to go into the 'Guys' bathroom. Monica was absolutely disgusted by the fact that the kids in school wouldn't even let him go to the bathroom in peace. She immediatly got one of the teacher's, and they cleared out all of the students. Everyone except for Nicole. Nick stood their and looked around helplessly.
"Oh my gawd! Hi Nicky! Like, I totally love your music!" Nicole said to him. She twirled her blonde hair around her finger.
"Uh, thanks! Uh, I have to...uh, go!" Nick said.
Nicole gawked in utter disbelief. She grabbed his arm, and batted her clumpy eyelashes. Nick hated girls like this. Maybe if he could see her face, things would be different. Her make-up was caked on, her button down shirt was barely even buttoned up.
"WAIT!" She yelled desperatly.
"Yes?" Nick replied as politely as possible. Almost sounding annoyed.
"What are you doing tomorrow night?" Nicole asked. She smiled, and Nick saw the lipstick on her teeth.
Nick was hoping she wouldn't ask this question. However, it was just asked. Their was no way to avoid it. He rolled his eyes.
"Um...Nothing, why?" He said.
"How about you and me, go to the pizza place?" Nicole said.
Monica smashed her locker door shut. She couldn't believe Nicole was moving in on him already. Nick's attention was over at Monica. He nodded his head, not really realizing he was saying yes. He was looking at Monica.
"YES!! Goody! Tomorrow at 7:00?" She asked.
"Wait, what?" Nick asked. But Nicole had already scurried off down the hall.
"Ugh! No no no no no!" Nick said over and over. He pounded his against the locker's.
Monica smiled sympathetically. She walked over to Nick. Nick continued to bash his head into the locker's.
"Nick! Woah! It's ok, nothin can be THAT bad. Can it?" She asked.
"Yes, that Nicole girl just asked me out." Nick said.
"WHAT? Oh my gosh! What did you tell her?" Monica asked. Even though she heard the whole conversation.
"I nodded yes, but I really meant no!" Nick said.
The two began walking towards the parking lot together. Nick waited for Lonnie, and Monica waited for her cousin Steffany.
"Well, most guys would die to be you! I mean, Nicole is one of the prettiest girls in school." Monica had said.
"She is?" Nick said with question.
"Well, she has a reputation. You know?" Monica nudged him in the gut.
"Well, I don't think she is my type." Nick said.
Monica didn't want to place Nick into a stereotype, but she assumed that a girl like Nicole would be a 'prize' for any 'celebrity'. Monica was very beautiful, but she didn't flaunt it around like Nicole. Nicole just comes out as 'slutty', or 'easy'.
"No? Well, what is your type?" Monica asked. She kind of wished she hadn't asked that. It was really none of her buissiness.
"I like more natural girls. Girls that I can actually see! I would need three containers of make-up remover just to see the first layer of make-up on that girl's face." Nick said while laughing.
Monica joined in laughing. "Your right! She must pile on her mascara. And her lips are way over lined!" Monica said.
"You noticed that too? Oh my god! She needs to use her lip liner more lightly. Another thing that can help her out is a touch up on her bleached hair." Nick said.
Monica burst out laughing again. Just then both of their rides came. Just as Monica was about to go into her car, Nick called out to her.
"Monica?" Nick yelled.
"Yeah, Nick?" She said.
"Thanks for helping me out in the hall today! I could have been trampled. Or even worse, I could have wet myself." He said jokingly.
"No problem! Anytime." She said.
"Listen, call me tomorrow!" Nick said to her.
He hopped in Lonnie's jeep, and they drove away. Monica smiled to herself and then hopped in Steffany's car.

When the girls arrived home in their studio apartment, Steffany made a comment about the blonde boy she saw with Monica.
"Was that a Backstreet Boy?" Steffany asked.
Monica turned around quickly. She was on the way to her bedroom, but hearing Steffany's question, she quickly turned around.
"Yeah...why?" Monica said.
"Those guys are great! Especially that Brian one. Have you seen him?" Steffany asked.
Monica shook her head no. Nick never mentioned any of the other bandmates, let alone anything else other then he was in the Backstreet Boys.
"Nope! Why?" Monica asked.
"Well, if you talk to that Nick kid again, find out about Brian!" Steffany said.
Monica smiled and headed back down the hall to her room. She jumped on her king sized bed. She stared up at the ceiling. Nick had said to call her, but he never gave her his number. Monica opened up her purse and looked for her lip gloss, a piece of paper fell out.
"Call me! 555-4897." Nick wrote.
Monica recalled the head butt, she had with him. She had the bump to prove it. She smiled and dialed the number.

"Hi! Is Nick their?" Monica said.
She was a little nervous about calling. Someone with a bit of a southern accent picked up. She hadn't excpected that.
"Nick! You move fast! Their is a woman on the phone for you!" Brian yelled.
"SHUT-UP, ROK! I don't move fast, I am just smoooooth!" Nick said as he picked up the phone.
Monica heard Nick say that. She tried to muffle her laugh by putting a pillow in front of her mouth.
"Hello?" Nick said.
"Nick? Hey it's Monica." She said.
"Oh..Hey! You found my number. I knew girl's needed to look through their purses at least five times before they go to bed, right?" Nick said laughing.
Monica laughed. "Yeah, actually you are totally correct!" Monica said.
"Well, listen! What am I going to do about that Nicole girl?" Nick asked.
"Well, you already said yes, right?" Nick aswered yes. "Then you should just go out with her once. No one is putting a gun to your head to make you do it more then once, right?" Monica asked.
"Actually! My friend Brian? He holds guns to my head all the time!" Nick said.
"Oh Brian? My older cousing Steffany wanted me to say Hi for her. So, um...tell him 'Hi'." Monica said.
"How old is your cousin?" Nick asked.
"She is 22. I live with her." Monica said.
"Cool! Brian is 23." Nick said.
"Awesome! Well, Nick I'm getting tired." Monica said.
"Oh, I'm sorry! Well, you should get some rest then. Tomorrow is Saturday, right?" Nick asked.
"Yeah! Good luck on your date tomorrow!" Monica said.
"Ugh! Do I have to go?" Nick whined.
"Yes, Nick! It's only once." Monica said sympathetically.
"Ok, I'll talk to you later." Nick said.
"Good night Nick!" She said.
They both hung up the phone. Monica layed in her bed. She really thought Nick was cool. She would have never excpected him to be so down to earth and...normal!
