THE GOD MAAHES

Maahes is a Deity that was worshiped in both Bubastis, and in Leontopolis. His parents are said to be Bast and Ptah, and I believe he shares some of the qualities of both. His name means "True before her",but the meaning of this is rather vague. What I've learned is that traditionally, he is a God of Healing, as well as being a guardian of Maat, taking vengeance on those who go against it, such as oath breakers. He is shown as having the body of a man, with the head of a lion, and always shown with a knife. In addition to what is written about him by historians, I feel strongly that he represents many other things, such as Self-mastery,Balance,Karma and Karmic debt,to name a few. Helping you to learn wisdom and self-control, so that you avoid going against Maat, is I believe, his main attribute. In this respect he can be seen as a Spiritual teacher,showing the way to all newly striving Spiritual warriors.

PRAYING TO MAAHES

Praying is a very powerful way to get the attention of Maahes, without a doubt! But the words need very much to come from your heart, and specifically worded for your needs. Of course, any prayer works better if you have a strong emotional desire to have a particular problem solved. You must feel it!
