Attic Treasure Information

Attic Treasures, are a part of Ty's line of products. They are jointed plush animals ranging in six to nineteen inches in height. They weren't dressed in the beginning, but usually are now. They include all different types of animals. From bears, rabbits, dogs, and cats to more exotic animals like hippos, lions, and monkeys. There is an Attic Treasure for everyone!

Attic treasures were first introduced to the Ty catalog in 1993. The orginal collection included eleven styles, ranging from six to twelve inches in size.

All the the styles were bears, except for Jeremy and Sara, who were rabbits.

In 1994, nine new characters joined the line. This bunch of release included different animals: cats, a mouse, and a monkey.

In 1995, Ty added twenty new Attic Treasures to the line! Also the Attic Treasures, became known as the "Ty Collectables". The line grew in inches as a new release, Grover, was sixteen inches tall. Two new animals, a dog and pig, were added to the line.

Along with new releases in 1996, Ty also updated previous releases. The previous releases now wore bows as clothes and some were made larger in size. Among new animals in the 1996 releases, there now was a frog for the first time.

In 1997, Ty Collectables were finally given clothes for the first time. But some "old timers" still remained as "naked". They were: Cody, Ivan, Prince, and Squaky.

In 1998, Ty Collectables became known as Attic Treasures once again. Along with bringing back with the old, Ivory reapeared as Amethyst in the catalog. New animals included a moose, hippo and a lion.
