Many of the Boy and Girls of Lorado were active in Scouting. Camp Buffalo Scout Camp was a popular meeting place all summer. There was a nice swimming pool, the water was always very very cold, it came from a deep mine on the mountain. The Coal Companies built picnic areas with barbeque pits and covered pavillions. Many company functions and events took place there during the summer. All the local churches used Camp Buffalo too, so we were all there many times during the summer. This picture was taken at one of the functions in June 1961, from the left is Jackie Daniels, Martha Milton, Mary Sue Stapelton and Elizabeth Ann Dearfield.
