I was doing some research on my family history and came across this photo. My great grandday, Lewis Vance, is n this photo. His daughter Shirley is my grandmother. My grandaddy, Willard Wilburn, also worked in this mine, as did my great uncle Alby Vance and maybe Charles Vance. If you have any info or other photos, please e-mail me.

This photo was taken from my website. My Dad has the original photo that I scanned and uploaded to the web. My Great Grandfather Lewis Curry was the tipple foreman. My Grandfather and several brothers also worked in the Tipple Crew. I am currently redoing my current website, and when it is finished the photo will be restored there.

Hello! I stumbled across your website when I was researching Lorado, WV after hearing my grandma's stories. My grandma is Betty Lankas, she grew up in Lorado in the 30s and 40s. I even found a picture on here of her sister Florence and some of her brothers! This is so neat, thank you!
