Just Where Is Crazy Dave From Anyway?

Click for Toms River, New Jersey Forecast

Well... I'm originally from a place called Toms River, New Jersey located along the beautiful Jersey Shoreline of Ocean County. I've lived there sooo long that I'm what we call a "piney". We even have our own slogan: " PINEY POWER ". It's kind of a derogatory term but we embrace it neverless. It means that we are children of the Pine Barrens Forest Region. We are a proud bunch and are quick to talk about the Pine Barrens.

(Just ask me about the Jersey Devil. And please, NOT the FAKE J.Devil that was featured on the "X-Files". By the way... thank you Chris Carter for screwing up the legend!!!)

Dover Township

I used to live down there somewhere! My father still has a house there. (Got to have someplace to go and live for free during my vacations right? Just a joke Dad!!!)

I'll have you notice all the forested areas. Whoever sez that New Jersey ain't nothin' but factories and slums ain't been down South Jersey way!!!

Actually, here are two pictures from a couple of hundred miles in space, one of my neighborhood and one of the street I used to live on.
When I figure out how to mark up the picture, I'll point out my old house! :-)

Thanks to the United States Geological Survey Service for the pictures!!

Surveyors do it in the woods! :-P
(A little Civil Engineering humor for everyone!)

Visit them and get your own pix to use on your web site!

Dad's House!

Here is where I grew up! Dad still lives there.

Barnegat Lighthouse

Approx. Lat.39deg.45.7'N Long.74deg.06.7'W

This is Barnegat Lighthouse, affectionately called "Ol' Barney". Built in 1859, Ol' Barney stands tall. At 165 feet, he is the second tallest lighthouse in the United States. He protected the entrance to Barnegat Inlet for many years until the Coast Guard in 1944 extinguished his light. Historically, Barnegat Inlet is one of the most hazardous inlets ever. It passes millions of cubic yards of sand, silt and water every tidal change.

Thanx to the Ocean County tourism web page for the graphics. Be kind and visit them at:
"Visit Ocean County, N.J."

By the way... you are listening to "Jungleland" by the one and only....BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN. He may be a flaming Liberal Democrat but I still listen to him.
BBBBRRRRRUUUUUUCCCCCEEEEE !!!!!!!..........
