Grandpa and Grandma Tarry were Polish immigrants. They came to America in the early part of the 20th century, settled in the New York metropolitan area and had five children. Legend has it that my grandmother was decended from Polish royalty. That may be pure fiction, but she did have enough money to buy land and own 3 butcher shops in Long Island, New York. Both grandparents died before their grandchildren were born. Although we never met, their legacy lives on as matriarch and patriarch of the Tarry family.
