DAWSON: Come on man the suspense is killing me. Do you know what's bothering Jo or not?
JOEY WALKS UP TO DAWSON AND PACEY.
JOEY: (smiles at Pacey) Hello.
DAWSON: What's going on?
JOEY: What do you mean?
DAWSON: You smiled at Pacey.
JOEY: Your delusional Dawson. I gotta go.

JOEY: (stops) What is it Dawson?
DAWSON: Can we please talk.
JOEY: Sure. What's on your mind?
DAWSON: I mean in private, like after school. Will you come by the house.
JOEY: All right Dawson. . . I suppose we do have some things to talk about. . . I'll see you after school.
DAWSON WALKS BACK TO PACEY.
DAWSON: What did she say last night Pacey? Is she still going to Paris?
PACEY: Well, that would be the good news. She has definatly found some reasons to stay in Capeside.
DAWSON: Really? That's the best news I've had in a few days. I owe you man. Thanks.
PACEY: (uncomfortable) Really, you don't need to thank me man. It's so. . . not necessary.
CUT TO JEN AND JOEY IN CLASS.
JEN: So i guess Dawson wasn't all you hoped he would be.
JOEY: What are you talking about?
JEN: He told me about what happened with the two of you.
JOEY: Really? Well I imagine that must have pissed yo uoff.
JEN: You don't deserve him Joey.
JOEY: Excuse me? I don't deserve him? That's classis coming from the New York bimbo, who couldn't wait to dump him when Billy boy strolled into town.
JEN: That's not fair. . . I was confused.
JOEY: Yeah, well life's not fair. . . You knwo Jen, gloating is an unattractive character trait.
JEN: Gloating?. . . Who's gloating?
JOEY: Spare me Jen. . . I know that you and Dawson are back together. . I'm fine with it.
JEN: What are you talking about?. . .Dawson and I aren't back together. . . He told me that you and he started something.
JOEY: (confused) But the other night when you came over to his house. . . and I heard Pacey congratulating you in the hallway.
JEN: YOu were eavesdropping?

JOEY: Pacey we've made a terrible mistake. . . well I have anyway.
PACEY: Are you refferring to last night?
JOEY: Yes. . . acey, last night should have never happened.
PACEY: If you remember. . >I tried to tall you that last night. . . Why are we re-hashing this Jo?
JOEY: I feel guilty. If Dawson finds out it will definatly be over between us.
PACEY: Over between who?. . . You and Dawson, or you and me?
JOEY: Stop it Pacey. . . There is no you and me.
PACEY: Oh I get it. . . Dawson's back in the icture now. So I guess it's bye-bye Pacey.

JOEY: Please Pacey, don't make this any harder then it already is. Dawson is your friend too.
PACEY: Funny. . . you seem to be able to forget that little bit of info last night.
JOEY: Pacey. . .you and I both know that you don't really want to be with me.
PACEY: We do?. . . Don't be so sure that were both convinced of that Jo.
JOEY: Pacey, you need to swear to me that you won't tell Dawson.
PACEY: My lips have been preety effectively sealed. . . if you know what I mean.
JOEY: Very amusing Pacey. . . Don't quit your day job.
CUT TO OTHER SIDE OF TREE WHERE JEN HAS OVERHEARD THE ENTIRE CONVERSATION.
NEXT SCENE: INT. OF DAWSON'S ROOM. JEN KNOCKS ON BEDROOM DOOR.
JEN: Can I come in Dawson?
DAWSON: (looks toward window) Um, sure okay.
JEN: DOn't worry I'll make it quick. I know your probably expecting Joey.
DAWSON: I'm sorry Jen about everything.
JEN: Apology accepted. . . but that's not why I'm here Dawson.
DAWSON: It's not? . .. Then what's up?
JEN: It's about Joey, or more specifically Joey and Pacey.
DAWSON: Joey and Pacey?. .. What about them?
JEN: Dawson, there's no easy way to say thins. . . so here goes. . .
DAWSON: (interrupting) Say what Jen?
JEN: Last night when you sent Pacey to talk to Joey. . .They ended up kissing on the beach.
DAWSON: What?. . Pacey and Joey?. . . Jen that's not even slightly conceivable.
JEN: Dawson, I'm sorry but it's true.
DAWSON: Then you must have heard wrong. Joey would never do that. . . especially not with Pacey. SOmeone's been pulling your leg.
JEN: It's a pretty reliable source Dawson. . . but that's not important. I just want you to know if you need a friend I will be there for you.
JOEY COMES IN BEDROOM WINDOW.
JEN: I gotta go. . . I'll talk to you later Dawson.
DAWSON: (still stunned)OK, bye Jen.
JOEY: She didn't have to leave on my account.
DAWSON: (walks over and hugs Joey) Jo, I'm glad your here.
JOEY: You said we needed to talk. . . so here I am.
DAWSON: We definatly do. . . but first I need to make a quick call. I'll be right back.
DAWSON: It's not important. . . what is important is that we set things straight between us.
JOEY: I know Dawson. .. I owe you an apology for wierding out on you like that. . .I just recieved some mis-information and I over-reacted.
DAWSON: Me and Jen? Why woudl you think that?
JOEY: Because I wasn't dealing with all the facts.
DAWSON: Yeah. . . it's definatly important to have all the facts, before you do anything rash.
DAWSON IS SITTING ON THE BED. JOEY IS STANDING IN FRONT OF HIM. THEY ARE HOLDING HANDS.
DAWSON: Jo, I really believe that we can make this work. If were honest with each other. . . we can get past anything.
JOEY: I want to be honest with you Dawson. . . I really do.
DAWSON: Do you?. . . because I have something to ask you Jo.
JOEY: (nervous) What is it Dawson?
JOEY: Dawson . . . your starting to worry me.
PACEY WASLKS INTO DAWSON'S ROOM. DAWSON LETS GO OF JOEY'S HANDS.
PACEY: Am I interrupting? Cause if not, I can come back later when I am.
JOEY: (surprised) What are youd oing here Pacey?
DAWSON: I called him and asked him to come over.
JOEY: (looks at Dawson) Why?
DAWSON: What I heard involves both of you. I want to make sure I'm not mis-informed. . . that I have all the facts.
PACEY: Whats going on here Dawson?
DAWSON: it's about last night Pacey. . . rumor has it that the night ended up less than platonic. I just need the both of you to tell me it's not true.
JOEY: (visably upset) Dawson. . . I can explain.
DAWSON: (stunned) Explain what Joey? Are you telling me that it's true? (starting to get angry) Joey is it true?
JOEY: Dawson, I. . .

PACEY: (insulted) Excuse me. . .did you forget I was in the room?
JOEY: Dawson I'm sorry. I was hurt. I made a mistake.
DAWSON: (turns to Pacey) And you Pacey. . . your supposed to be my friend. Why would you hit on her like that?
JOEY: Wait. . .it's not Pacey's fault.
DAWSON: (angry) Don't defend him Joey!
JOEY: I have to Dawson. . . yo uwan tthe truth? . . . Well here it is, painful as it may be. I thought that yo uhad chosen Jen over me. I was determained to move on. Pacey didn't hit on me. . . I hit on him.
DAWSON: What?. . . Pacey is that true?
PACEY: Well, yes. . . she ma yhave started it. . . but I'm gonna have to take some of the blame. I didn't stop her.
DAWSON: Joey. . . what's happening to you?
JOEY: I was hurt Dawson. . . I clearly wasn't thinkg about the consequenses.

JOEY: I shoudl have Dawson, I'm sorry.
DAWSON: I think you both need to go now.
JOEY: I can't leave Dawson, not until I know where we stand.
DAWSON: You expect me to figure that out right now?
JOEY: Just tell me Dawson. . . can we get past this?
DAWSON: god. . .I have no idea Joey. . . frankly being around th eboth of you is making me ill. . . So if you don't take your boyfriend and leave then I'm going.
