Now that Joey has been in Paris for about two says, she was really ready to go out and see the city on her own. Her host family had given her money for a cab in case she got lost or tired. As soon as she steppped out the door she knew exactly where she wanted to go first. She had seen pictures of it, and evern saw it's outline from the plane. But now she wanted to go and see the Eiffle Tower for herself. She had called Bessie a couple of times, and still had no word on where Pacey was. The first day she stayed home was to get adjusted to her new environment, the second day she was waiting by the phone. He said he would call her, but still nothing. By the third day she was getting restless, so she decided to have fun. After all, she had an answering machine in her room, that would let her know if he called or not. Besides, she had decided to start school next Monday, so she wouldn't be too far behind seeing as it was already the middle of the semester, and she wanted to see as much as possible in the four says she had left.

Pacey was still reeling from the shock he got yesterday. Not only had he gotten away from hom, away from his family, an amazing new place to stay, a great host family, a chance to be with Joey without Dawson around to possibly mess everythign up, but he was goin gto get all of this for an entire year! He felt like his life was definatly taking a turn for the much better. Sure he would have to start school in a week, but he was even looking forward to that. No one there would know about what he had done before, and he even heard that they were lenient to the exchange students who came half way through the semester. Then it dawned on him. . . JOEY!!! I was going to surprise her!! I Guess I should call her and get her address. (About five minutes later) Great, even here she leaves the machine to pick up the phone. Oh well, I called, left a message to prove it, now it's time to see the sights.

As Joey was getting on the elevator of the Eiffel Tower to go back to the ground, she noticed someone gettin off of the elevatro that had just arrived at the top.

Was that just Pace? No, he's not in France. I must be hallucinating. That's it, my mind is playing games on me. I had a little too much wine at lunch, (Not that I could halp it. DO that soak all their veggies in alchohal?) And now it's getting to me. I was just upset at him for not calling, so now I see him. How pathetic can you get? Well, now I have been talking to myself, can I be any worse? Anyway, time to go see the Louvre. I can't wait to see the Mona Lisa.

(While at the same time)

Was that just Joey back there? I hope not. And if it was I really hope she didn't see me. I really want to surprise her. I can't wait too see the look on her face when she sees that I am in Paris. Hell, I still can't believe it myself. This should be one great year. Look at yourself Pace, in the most beautiful and exhilarating city in the world, and for an entire year even. Well, now that I'm done looking at the wonderous Tower, I guess I'll go check out the Louvre. I think I heard the Mona Lisa is there.

Wow, there are so many great things in this country. And I Joey Potter, of all the people get to experience it for a year. I just wish that I knew someone. Well, maybe I'll meet someone at school. Well, I had better get home. Wow, home, in Paris, who would have thought? OK, I'm doind it again, just keep telling yourself, Pacey is not in France, Pacey is not in France. That person who you just saw was NOT Pacey. Pacey is not in France, Pacey is not in France.

OK, now Pace, be more careful where you go. That persona lso looked like Jo. And I really don't want her to knwo that I'm here. Not yet anyway. i still need to decided how to surprise her. Maybe I should just show up at her doorstep, or casually run into her. Who would have ever thought that saying hi to a lifelong friend woulf be so unbelievably difficult? Oh well, I had better get back to my new and improved lodgings.

JOEY!! Mrs. Cadoret called. We better get going now. Your appointment is in about ten minutes.

Coming. All set, I just noticed thatone of my friends called, but he didn't say where he was or leave a phone number. Oh well at leats he called, let's go. Joey was both excited and nervous at the same time. Florette, which Mrs. Cadoret insisted Joey call her, had decided that she needed to update her look. SO an appointment was made at Florette's stylist, and the two were on there way. Monique, the Cadoret's only shild had gone back to college after initially meeting Jo. When they arrived at "Fredric's Salon" she was immediatly welcomed.

Bonjour Florette!

Bonjour Fredric! This is Joey.

Non parle pas Franciase?

Non.

Well then, maybe we should speak her language.

Thank you, Joey said quietly.

No need to apologize mademoiselle. If you stay long enough, ou will learn. SO, how do you want your hair to be done?

Um, I haven't ever had a hair cut, let alone been to a salon before. So whatever you think would work, go ahead and do. Just don't shave it all off OK?

Well, this will be a fun time for me then! Fredric was already imagining what diffrent hair lengths would look like on Joey. Nearly and hour later, he was done.

I LOVE IT! Was Joey's immediate response where she saw her reflection in the morrow. Her hair was now cut to her ears, and looked very cute to her. He had told her that it was very easy to care for, and was quite fashionable. She was just so ecstatic, she was goign to become a new person, and was ready to try the change.

MY, don't we look wonderful! Florette commented. Now, time to go get the rest of your makeover! Come on, time to hit the department stores!

OK, I'm ready to face the world. Joey was definatly ready to change. About three hours later, they returned home. Florette had practically bought out the cosmetics department in her quest to help Joey become the new person she could see was dying to get out.

Are you sure yo udon't mind doing all of this for me? Joey had to ask.

Are you kidding me child? Woudl be Florette's repsonce, I am loving every second of this. You see, you remind me so much of myself at your age, and I remember that I felt so much better when I finally let my femine shide show. Now I get to relive that experience with you. Understand?

Yes, and I really can't thank you enough. Also, I do feel better, at home I was always a tomboy. It's nice to try something new.

Beside, you have to look stunning when you go to school tomorrow.

Well, I don't know about stunning.

Are you kidding me. Have you looked in the mirror? The makeup accentuates your feautures, the skirt, top, and all the other new clothes show off your body, and the hair cut defines your face. Also, remember, you are in Paris, France now. Be proud.

I guess your right. Yeah, you are. But don't worry, I won't get a big head over it.

I know I am. Just you watch. Tomorrow when yo uwalk in to that school, all the guys will want to be with you, and the girls will be asking you for beauty tips.

I woulnd't guit go that far.

I would. Florete was obviously proud of the work she had done today.

Hope you like it. Sorry I spen so much time describing Joey's makeover, I just though short hair, and becoming more feminine would be something new to try. Let me know what you think. Send all comments to pjtf@hotmail.com
