Pagan Path

This morning I went outside to walk my children to the bus stop. As I walked out the door, a owl swooped down from the sky and passed so close to me that I could feel the air pushed by his wings. The bluejay that followed him, squawking his anger, didn’t seem happy that I had altered his future. He spent the next twenty minutes perched on my roof voicing his disapproval.

So, what does this have to do with the Pagan Path? Everything! Coincidence is merely a ghostly remnant of a true spiritual connection with the Earth. So in my mind the owl was destined to fly over the door as I walked out. He had a message just for me. In Native American culture, the Owl seen during the day is a sign of Death. Death is the ultimate change. As I look back upon my life with the knowledge I have now, I can see a pattern that has brought me to where I am. As I read more and gain a larger knowledge base, I see that places I have visited, by chance, have a mystical or spiritual significance. Stonehenge, Glastonbury, Tiintern Abbey, Merlin’s Cave, etc. The list is actually quite long.

I was born in Swansea, Wales. My ancestors are all Welsh. I grew up in Pennsylvania. Our home was in the woods and I spent my days in Mother Natures day care. I was more at home with the trees than I was at home. I learned to read the forest and feel her moods at an early age.I would close my eyes and “see” the feelings of the trees. When I was ten years old, I had to do a composition in school. I picked Egyptian Hieroglyphics.(got an “A”) I had an obsession with the Bermuda Triangle and Modern Magic. I spent many hours on my back watching the night sky for Visitors. All these things were done out of my own mind. My father passed when I was young, my mother worked to pay the bills. I played in the woods.

I believe that the universe is formed from energy and that that energy can be manipulated. I also believe there is no such thing as coincidence or happenstance. I believe in the power of Love and that the Magic it produces can change the world. I believe that innocence is the epitome of spirituality.

I also believe in reincarnation. My soul has been here before and lived in a time before Christianity cast it’s veil over the world. I have loved timelessly and completly and found that Love again. I have visited many places that I already knew when I arrived, without ever having been there before (Stonehenge).

I don’t think I happened upon this Path, I think I have always been on it.
