Well, if the truth be known, those "round German buttons" manufactured by E-T-A (one of the world's largest manufacturers of high quality electric and electronic equipment) are Thermal CBE's. They are still manufactured today and are extremely reliable and dependable. One of the advantages is their ability to distinguish between a surge (motor start or big lamp) and a sustained overload (short circuit). And they dually function as a breaker and switch to boot.
Ted was really showing some educated foresight when he chose to go with them.
They can be ordered via Wes-Garde Components Group, Inc.
You might have saved yourself a lot of time and effort by just replacing them as they wore out. Mine are just starting to go after almost 20 years of use! I just pop one out and pop a new one in. Oh well, live and learn.
