When I began my healing journey I
felt a great weight being lifted off of my tired shoulders. Simply being able to tell,
gave me strength. With this strength began my quest for knowledge .
I began here on the Internet,
and soon I gathered up the nerve to walk into a bookstore and purchase a book, The Courage To Heal As I walked up to the counter and
handed this book to the cashier, panic struck. I couldn't look up...I did not want to make
eye contact...The words, "She knows..she knows...she knows" went racing in my
head. The shame, the embarrassment, the humiliation was quite evident by my facial
expression, and body language. I fumbled in my purse handed her cash, (a credit card would
make this transaction even more unbearable) grabbed my change and my purchase, and quickly
headed out the door. Air!...I could breath again. You see I needed to read The
Courage To Heal before I could have the courage to buy it.
So now by modern technology I
can purchase my books from home. I can browse without looking behind my back, receive
great discounts, and continue to learn and grow.
I have recently been purchasing
my books through Amazon.com and am satisfied with the easy access and great service. (And
no chasing my kids up and down the bookstore isle!)
