"Are you excited much Mick?" AJ asked her. They were on a plane on their way to Florida. It was the day after the Halifax concert and the Boys had a few days off so they wanted to go home for a bit. Mickey was happy because she was going to get the chance to meet Jo in person.
"Just a little!!" She said giggling.
"I'm sorry I won't be the one to take you." Nick said looking over at her.
"It's ok, I totally understand." Nick lived five hours away from Orlando and he wanted the chance to see his family. Jenn, Mickey and Laura were all going to stay at AJ's house.
"I don't mind taking you." Brian called from across the isle. "I'll just shoot hoops while you meet with her."
"You don't even know if they have a basketball net." Jenn told him.
"It's Florida, most people have basketball nets." He reasurred her.
"Oh, well sorry." She retorted sarcastically.
"Now now children." Kevin added.
They were all in a good mood, and all hyper. Kevin wasn't his usual take charge kind of guy today, he was just as immature and goofy as the rest. Going home had this effect on them. They didn't get much of a chance to see each other the day before so the guys invited them to Florida with them. Of course the girls said yes! Mickey was looking over at Nick, she just didn't know what was going on there. One minute she gets one vibe from him and the next minute she gets another vibe. She remembered seeing Frankie doing that to girls before.
"Oh my God!!" Mickey yelled.
"What??" Everyone said worried.
"Frankie!!!"
"Huh?" Nick said looking at her.
"Oh sorry. It's just that I haven't talked to Frankie since before the concert in Toronto. He's going to flip on me."
"Who's Frankie?" Brian asked, noticing the look on Nick's face.
"Her bestfriend." Jenn explained. "He's really protective of her and stuff. He's going to be worried."
"I'm sure he'll understand Mick." Laura tried to make Mick feel better. "I wonder how Tracee did down in New York?"
"Oh I hope she had fun." Jenn replied.
"You can call your friends when we get to my house." AJ told Mickey.
"Thanks." She said.
Everyone said goodbye to Nick at the Orlando airport. He hopped on another plane to take him to the Tampa airport. Howie's mother was there to pick him up so he went home with her. Denise met up with AJ in the airport and told him that she was going to get a lift with Tommy. They didn't have seats together on the plane so they didn't have a chance to talk on the flight down. She invited the girls and AJ over for dinner the next night. Kevin and Brian decided to go to AJ's for a bit so the six of them headed off.
Mickey was looking at the houses as they drove to AJ's from the airport. She loved Florida, the houses, the trees, the weather, and looking over at Bri, Kev and J she thought, best of all she loved the guys in Florida. The houses started to get bigger and bigger. Even though Mickey lived in a big house she was still taken aback by them. Jenn and Laura were in heaven too. Their eyes were glued to the windows in the car. Finally they pulled up in front of a huge house.
"Pink!!?" Exclaimed Jenn as Mickey started laughing. "I like it!!"
"What's so funny?" He asked Mickey.
"Nothing. I just didn't picture you living in a pink house, that's all."
"Yeah well AJ's in touch with his feminine side." Kevin whispered to Mickey. She giggled again.
"Hey! I heard that. Plus who are the two in the group who cry at the drop of a hat?" He asked, looking at Brian and Kevin.
"At least we keep ahold of our hats when we're supposed to."
"Uh guys?" Laura interupted.
"Oh sorry." AJ said as he got his keys out and walked to the front door.
"I'm surprised that you guys came here instead of going home." Jenn told Brian and Kevin.
"Yeah well AJ has a roommate so that means there is always food in the house." Brian explained. "I don't have any food and I'm too lazy to go to the store right now. Chances are it's the same thing for Kev."
"Yep!" Kevin nodded in agreement. The girls chuckled and AJ just looked at them.
"Who do you live with?" Mickey asked.
"A friend of mine." He looked at Laura. "I forgot all about it. It's a girl." He cringed.
"It's ok AJ." Laura told him. "What did you think I would do? Fly off the handle?"
"Well not many girls are ok with guys living with ohter gilrs."
"I'm used to Mickey and Frankie so it doesn't bother me. If you say nothing's going on between you then I believe you."
"Wow, you really are the coolest, aren't you?"
"Ah, yeah, that's what they tell me." She joked. "No seriously I just don't get jealous unless I have to."
"Thanks." He said and leaned over and gave her a kiss. The others just looked at each other wondering if they missed something.
"Are they like a couple now?" Brian and Jenn whispered to Mickey.
"I don't know. I know she likes him but that's the last I was informed." She said.
"Hmm, well I think we missed something." Kevin added.
"Definately." The other three said in unision.
"Deb, hey Deb!" AJ called out. "I'm home." There was no answer though.
"Guess she's gone out." Brian observed.
"Wow, you're good." Jenn teased.
"Thank you, thank you very much. You know, I had to work at it. Didn't come naturally."
"You guys are retarted." Kevin said as he opened the fridge. "AHHHHHHHHHH!"
"What?" Asked Mickey.
"The only food in here is leftovers and there is stuff growing on it!!! That's not a good sign!"
"What the fu....?" AJ started to ask.
"Hey, J, there's a note from Deb over here." Brian noticed. AJ went over and read the letter.
"Oh great, she moved out and couldn't even wait till I got home! She's been coming over everyday to take care of the mail and stuff."
"Oh but keeping food here was just too much for her?" Brian said sarcastically as he was going through the cupboards.
"Mickey you can use that phone or if you want you can go use the one in the living room." AJ pointed out.
"This one's fine, thanks." She grabbed the piece of paper with Jo's number on it and dialed the number. As the phone rang she heard someone come through the front door. As someone picked up the phone a girl walked into the kitchen.
"Hello?"
"Ah, is Joanne there please?"
"Just a moment."
"Thank you."
"Oooh, you're so polite Mickey." Brian teased.
"Shut up."
"Why couldn't you wait?" AJ was grilling the girl, Mickey figured she must have been Deb.
"And why couldn't you have food waiting for us?" Kevin wanted to know.
"Enough with the food!!" Laura yelled as she laughed.
"Hello? Hu-lllo?"
"Oh hey Jo! It's Mickey."
"Mickey!! Oh my God!! How are you? Where are you?"
"The fans are just too much Alex! I can't live like that....."
"Uh, hold on a second Jo." Mickey said and then covered the receiver. "Ok, AJ, where's that other phone?"
"We'll show you." Brian said as he started walking towards another room. Kevin stayed back to hang up the phone and then joined the others in the living room.
"Jo? Sorry about that."
"That's ok. So what's going on?"
"I'm in Florida right now!"
"No way!!! Where?"
"I'm at AJ's house right now. It's a little chaotic right now. I'll explain later."
"Ok then. So what are you doing here?!"
"Well the guys wanted to spend some more time with us. We have no idea why but we weren't going to argue."
"I don't imagine you would."
"Brian is willing to drive me over to your house but I think we're going to have to wait till tomorrow."
"Really?? That's awesome!! I finally get to meet you and see what you look like!"
"I know! I can't wait! We'll have a blast. I would've liked to go today but Brian is wiped and I don't want to bug him. So what would be a good time?"
Mickey and Jo set up a time and Jo gave Mickey her address and directions. When she hung up with Jo, she gave Frankie a call but he wasn't home. She left a message on his answering machine to let him know that she was ok and she would call him again when she got the chance. The five of them got up and headed back into the kitchen, where there was still fighting going on.
"Jesus Alex! I can live where I want to you know!"
"Why couldn't you just wait a week? Is that too much to ask?"
"Yeah it is when me and Ben can't even have a nice evening alone without a million fans making noise and coming to the door!"
"I'm suprised you didn't open the door and bitch at them, you seem to be good at it!!"
"What's the big deal?"
"It's just nice not worrying about leaving my house. I knew you were here taking care of things. It's like breaking up with someone over the phone! You should wait to do it in person."
"I never know when you're going to be home! Plus, I've still been taking care of things."
"Look guys, as interesting as this is, and it is, I think I'm gonna jet and go relax at my pad." Brian said sneaking over to the door.
"Yeah, me too." Kevin followed.
"Mick, I'll pick you up tomorrow at ten right?"
"Yeah Bri, thanks again eh."
"Eh? I love it! You sound so cute when you say that!"
"Making passes at the girl your bestfriend has his eye on, that's not good Brian." Kevin told his cousin.
"Man if you think that is a pass then boy you've been out of the dating scene way too long." Brian was saying as they left. Jenn, Laura and Mickey all felt uncomfortable standing there as AJ and Deb continued arguing.
"Alright, alright then. There is no sense in fighting over this. I'm sorry but I'm really tired ok. So are you living with Ben now?"
"Yeah," She said. "I'll still look after things when you're away."
"No, don't worry about it. Look, I'm beat so I'll just talk to you tomorrow ok."
"Alright." Deb said and she left. She was upset, she didn't want her friend mad at her.
"So that was Deb huh?" Jenn said, trying to break the ice.
"Are you alright babe?" Laura went over and asked AJ.
"Yeah, I'm fine. What am I going to do though?"
"Worry about it later ok." She said as she wrapped her arms around him. Mickey and Jenn definately missed something. Mickey would ask Laura about it later.
"I will. So do you guys want a tour of my house?"
"Sure." The three of them said.
Brian was right on time picking Mickey up the next morning. Jenn decided to come so she could leave Laura and AJ alone. She'd rather hear about what was going on with them rather then hear it for herself. Mickey was very happy and hyper, Jenn was getting a kick out of it.
"So what happened after we left yesterday?"
"Not too much. AJ and Deb stopped fighting and she left. He showed us around and stuff."
"Did you know that he has a bowling alley in his basement?" Jenn exclaimed from the backseat.
"Yeah I did Jenn. I've bowled on it before."
"Oh shut up." She said crossing her arms. She wasn't used to someone being a smartass like her. She had competition now.
"I'm sorry." He laughed.
"So do you know where you're going?" Mickey asked?
"Not really." He said looking out the front windsheild.
"What? Are you serious? You live here and you don't know where you're going?"
"Orlando is a very big place. Plus, how often am I actually here?"
"Oh great! I have a better chance of finding it."
"We'll find it no problem Mickey." He said looking over at her.
"So what's with you and Nick?" He asked. This brought Jenn up closer, she peered in between the two of them.
"Nothing."
"Are you sure?" He probed.
"I'm sure. We're just getting to know each other."
"No Mickey, me, you, Kevin, Howie and Jenn are getting to know each other. Looks like AJ and Laura know each other pretty well. And you and Nick? That's more then just getting to know each other. I've seen him around girls before."
"Yeah, well. Right now nothing's going on." Just as she finished saying that, they pulled into Jo's driveway. Mickey was thankful to be off the hook. She just wasn't in the mood to discuss this with Brian. They went up to the door and Jo answered it and gave Mickey a big hug. Mickey introduced Brian and Jenn. Both of whom she kinda knew. Brian, for obvious reasons and Jenn, because Mickey always talked about her and Jo even talked with Jenn a couple of times online. The four of them went into Jo's house.
