When the concert was over the girls just sat in amazement for a few seconds. All four of them were very excited but also very nervous. As soon as they got up they would be on their way to meet the Backstreet Boys. They couldn't move. Then Tony and Kris stood up and told them it was time.
"Oh my god!!!! Do I look ok? Is my hair fine? Are you sure this outfit looks good?" Tracee asked all at once.
The other girls laughed and told her she looked fine. Then they reasured each other. So when everyone was confident that she looked ok they headed towards backstage.
Mickey's legs were so weak from nervousness she wasn't sure if she could make it. Then she told herself she had to make it because she wasn't about to embarrass herself in front of her five favorite guys.
When they got backstage it was a scurry of people. People seemed to be running everywhere. The four friends were not the only ones with backstage passes. They were however the oldest. They were also the only ones who weren't screaming. Well all except Tracee anyhow.
"Wait here I'll be right back." Tony said as he walked over to a man none of the girls recognized.
"I hate waiting. I don't want to wait. I want to see them now. Oh my gosh……" Jenn was beginning to sound like Tracee at this point. It wasn't that Laura and Mickey didn't feel the same way, they just weren't as vocal about it. They would be afterwards though.
Mickey was really into how things went on behind the scences so she was taking all of it in. There were media people everywhere interviewing the young girls who were about to meet their idols. Security had a strong appearance as well. Different types of security as well, there were cops, venue security and of course the Backstreet Boys own security guys. A couple of which were pretty cute Mickey noted. Yep she definitely liked the sights, and not just the guys. Her dream was to work in the entertainment business, but not in front of the cameras or on stage but behind the scenes. She wanted to do the videos and write movie scripts and stuff.
"Oh my gosh that's Denise MacLean!" Exlaimed Laura, bringing Mickey back to reality once again.
"Hi girls!" Denise addressed as she walked over towards them.
"Hi, it's nice to meet you. I'm Laura and this is Mickey, Jenn and Tracee."
"It's nice to meet you too." She replied smiling. "So did you enjoy the concert?"
"Oh yeah!" They all said at the same time.
"Have you ever seen them perform before or was this your first time to one of their concerts?" Denise asked, seemingly genuinely interested.
"Oh this is our third time for seeing them." Retorted Mickey. "They seem to keep getting better and better everytime."
Denise gave a little giggle. "You guys must like them a lot."
"Oh yeah!" They answered again in unision.
"Have you met them before?"
"No this is our first time," explained Jenn "can't you tell? We're so nervous."
"Oh don't sweat it girls. They are just regular guys and you know how men can be. Well they can annoy you just as much as anyone." Denise joked.
"That's hard to believe." Tracee challanged. "So do like travelling with them and stuff?"
"Yeah it's fun. I love to be with Alex so it's a pretty cool job. I also love to see new places and meet new people. It's weird to see girls react like they do towards your son. I probably wouldn't believe it if I didn't see it first hand."
"Yeah it does get pretty crazy doesn't it?" Laura questioned.
"Oh my gosh yes! I can't believe that young girls actually through bras, underwear, condoms and that type of stuff on stage. And these aren't just the older ones either."
"Man I could never do anything like that." Tracee said in disbelief.
"I couldn't either. How do they feel about that kind of stuff?" Jenn asked.
"Well they get really uncomfortable when it happens." Denise started to explain. "Especially Nick, he was so young when they started and he's the most favorite. He had no experience with girls and it intimidated him. Even now he's really shy around girls. One time a girl yelled at AJ to get his attention and then she lifted her top and flashed him. It caught him off gaurd and he forgot the words he was singing. They try to ignore that it happens whenever the parents are around. We're aware of it though."
"How can people act like that? That's just crazy!" Tracee was shaking her head.
"Oh, here comes Jane." Observed Denise.
"Hi Denise, hi girls."
"Hi Jane, this is Laura, Jenn, Tracee and Mickey." Introduced Denise.
"Hi, look I have a favor to ask you girls." Jane started. "There are a lot of people here tonight to meet the guys. More then expected and it's getting late. Now we want to be fair and give everyone a chance to meet them. But since it's getting late and you guys appear to be the oldest, can you meet them last and let the younger ones go ahead of you?."
"Sure." They all answered.
"You sure you don't mind?" Inquired Jane.
"Yeah, we don't have any plans or anything. Plus we understand with the age thing." Mickey said.
"Thanks. I know the guys like meeting the older fans and I think they would be disapointed if they didn't get a chance to talk to you girls."
"Wow, now I'm really getting excited." Jenn said, not able to stand still.
"Would you guys like something to eat or drink while you wait?" Denise asked like a caring mother would.
"No thanks." Replied everyone.
Aaron came running over to see his mom yelling the whole way over. "Mom Nick is being mean again!" He whined.
"Oh no." She complained quietly. "What's he doing?"
"He said that everyone was going to leave in the middle of the night when I'm sleeping and you're just gonna leave me behind. He said I wouldn't ever be able to get back in the States cause you carry my birth certificate and passport."
The girls had to try hard not to giggle. It was so cute. Actually it's something Jenn would do to Tracee's little sisters. Tracee teased them a lot but they got used to it so they never bother with her anymore. So Jenn started and they believe just about everything she says, big mistake on their part.
"Aaron, sweety, you have nothing to worry about. I won't leave without my baby. Nick just wants to get you going and it's working." Jane said in an attempt to comfort him.
"They've locked me out on the balcony before so I wouldn't put it past him."
Jane started laughing. "Don't worry we won't leave without you. I'll be with you the whole time anyhow."
"Ok then." He said a little more reasured. He gave her a quick hug and a kiss and then ran off again.
"Oh my." Jane said, still half laughing. "Nick always gets to him it doesn't matter what it is he says or does."
"Poor Aaron though." Laura said, she couldn't help but sympathize with him.
"Oh it's ok. He gets Nick back. He'll embarass him around girls or something. It's an ever continuing thing with all of them. Aaron might be young but he still gets his shots in."
"I think it's so cute how they seem to get along." Said Jenn talking about Nick and Aaron.
"Yeah it makes life at home a lot easier. They fight a lot like brothers will but they are really close and get along most of the time."
Mickey looked around the area they were in and noticed that there were less people there now. Another thing that appealed to her was that it was also quieter. She didn't mind noise but she hated the sound of girls screaming. She wondered if they screamed everytime they saw a gorgeous guy walk down the street. They probably at least giggled. Then she started wondering if she was like that when she was younger. Yeah she got excited and flustered when she saw them but she wasn't standing in front of them screaming her head off.
Once again she was brought back to reality. This time it was ok though because she came back to reality when Aj, Brian, Howie, Kevin and Nick stood in front of her and the others and said HI!
