Pensacola Beach And Gulf Islands National Seashore

Pensacola Beach and Gulf Island's National Seashore is on Santa Rosa Island, which is in the far northwest corner of the Florida panhandle. I chose Pensacola Beach and G.I.N.S. as my number 1 vacation spot in Florida. It is not as crowded as the more recognized vacation destinations. The majority of the hotels are relatively new and very nice for the price. While it can be crowded during special events, it is typically a very serene and peaceful place for any family vacation. While you're there, do not forget to spend at least one day at Gulf Islands National Seashore between Pensacola Beach and Fort Walton. These beaches are easily accessible thanks to the parking areas and boardwalks built near the shore. Ft. Pickens is part of the Gulf Islands national seashore as well and is worth going to visit. When the great Indian Chief Geronimo was captured, he was taken to Fort Pickens where he lived in prison for many years and was eventually moved to another reservation but he never was returned to to his native homeland like he was promised by the United States government. Gulf Islands is an adventurous excursion and a convenient one too! It is located on both sides of Pensacola Beach so be sure to go to both sides. However, I would suggest not swimming too far out in the water, as there are no lifeguards for miles and most of the seashore is barren and relatively free of people. There are no restrooms or electricity there. Please leave no trash, as you could be fined heavily if caught. It is truly a wondeful place to visit. It stretches for miles, to the end of the island. Sometimes, you can go without seeing someone else the entire day, at Gulf Islands National Seahshore. This place is not to be missed. The only downfall is that occasionally there are holidays or celebrations that interfere with the beautiful surroundings. So call ahead and try to avoid these major events. On a scale of 1-10, I give Pensacola . This is a beach town and that is pretty much Beach and Gulf Islands National Seashore at Santa Rosa Island a "10" for it's hotel availability, it's beauty and it's ability to provide a good vacation for everyone. It is cheaper than places like Orlando, much cheaper! The best restaurant to eat at on the Island is Jubilee's and the best hotel to stay at is probably the Hampton Inn Resort Hotel on Pensacola Beach. This place is for families, friends and lovers. My #1 choice in Florida. And remember "Gulf Islands National Seashore" Pensacola Beach and Santa Rosa Island must be visited in the summertime as the winter is very cold and so is the water which kind of spoils it for everyone. That pretty much goes for any destination that is in the Florida panhandle. Trust me on that one!!!
