IT REALLY IS SOMETHING TO SEE,
MY INDIAN PONY AND ME,
I MOUNT HER BACK AND AWAY WE RIDE,
THROUGH THE HIGH GRASS OVER THE COUNTRYSIDE...
PAST THE MIGHTY MOUNTAINS AND SWAYING GRASS,
UNTIL WE REACH GRANDFATHER EAGLE AT LAST,
HE TEACHS ME AND MY PONY THE OLD WAYS,
AND TELLS ME I'LL BE A WARRIOR SOMEDAY...
I'M VERY PROUD OF HER YOU SEE,
SHE ALWAYS LOVES ME FOR ME,
SHE NEVER TELLS ME I AM WRONG,
EVEN WHEN MY MISTAKES ARE LONG...
SHE IS ALWAYS HERE JUST FOR ME,
GRANDFATHER TOLD ME THIS WOULD BE,
HE TOLD ME TO CARE FOR HER AND TREAT HER RIGHT,
SOMEDAY SHE WOULD CARRY ME INTO THE FIGHT...
TO PROTECT MY FAMILY AND HUNT FOR FOOD,
SHE IS THE BEST AND I DO LIKE I SHOULD,
I BRUSH HER AND BRAID HER LONG BLACK MANE,
WITHOUT HER IN MY LIFE, IT WOULD NOT BE THE SAME...
ONE DAY I WILL RIDE HER UP TO GREET,
THE FATHER OF MY FURURE BRIDE,
SHE'LL LOOK SO PROUD IN HER FEATHERS AND BEADS,
AND INTO THE SUNSET WE'LL RIDE...
SHE WILL CARRY ME AND ALL OF MY THINGS,
THAT I HAVE GOTTEN IN LIFE,
MY WIFE AND CHILD SHE WILL CARRY TOO,
SHE'LL BE THERE AT MY SIDE...
INTO THE SUNSET I MUST GO,
THE TIME IS GROWING NEAR,
MY PONY WILL BE THERE WITH ME THEN,
SO I CAN GO WITHOUT FEAR...
NOW LOOK UP IN THE SKY SOME NIGHT,
AND THERE YOU ALL WILL SEE,
A GLIMPSE OF A RIDER ALL IN WHITE,
IT'S MY INDIAN PONY AND ME.
THE END
