EAGLE SPEAKS
Soaring high above all else,
We hear his lonesome call,
Watching and protecting,
To Creator, he speaks for all…
With our prayers under wing,
Above the clouds he flies,
This beautiful gift to our people,
Decorates the skies…
We are taught to lend an ear,
To all of Grandfather’s creations,
Every rock and leaf has lessons,
No matter what our nations…
But one mighty spirit,
Was gifted to all men,
To carry our prayers to Creator,
As we confess our sins…
Creator, tells us not to worry,
Do not ask of self,
Respect and honor our sisters and brothers,
Do this above all else…
Walk our paths with pride of the people,
Listen to Great Spirit’s words,
In return he touches our hearts and spirits,
With the lessons that we learn…
While offering our sage and tobacco,
Feeling humbled and meek,
We hear his cries above us,
As the eagle speaks.
