This cause is very dear to me. My son was born critically ill June 8, 1987. After doctors stabilized him at our local hospital he was transferred to All Childrens Hospital Neonatal Unit. He remained there until July 3rd. After his discharge we would spend many more days and trips back to the hospital. I cannot say enough good about the hospital and staff! During one of the worst possible situations a person could go though, they were always there to support us.

Darrel passed away October 26th, 1987 in the medical intensive care unit of heart and lung complications. This ended his 20 week struggle for life. Within moments another child lost her battle with cancer in the same unit.

I think what I will always remember is the courage of all the parents and children we met there during that time. I saw children walk that doctors had said had no chance. (guess someone forgot to tell those kids they couldn't do it!) The miracles that happened everyday were just incredible.
