OK, OK, so now everyone wants to know our whole *N SYNC story and how we met Chris, right? OK, I'll (Amanda) write it out again. Alright, well, we were supposed to leave around 10:00 AM on July 30, 1998 from my friend, Jeni's house with her Mom behind the wheel because the concert was general admissions. However, they were getting work done around their house and didn't want to leave in the middle of it, so we didn't end up leaving Lima- a good 3-4 hours from Cleveland (our destination)- until around 1:00 PM. We got to Odeon Theater around 4:00 or so, and we lined up (we actually still had pretty good line position) and awaited the opening of the doors. Around 6:30 maybe, the guys' tour bus showed up and out came the guys. A bunch of the girls ran over because they saw em coming. Kara and I went over, too, but we couldn't see well enough to get pictures of the guys or anything. First, Lance stepped off the bus- he was wearing a bright orange t-shirt and looked SO cute! Then Justin came off- most of the girls screamed- and he was wearing a red t-shirt with a navy North Carolina hat- he also looked adorable. Next was Joey- wearing a navy and orange t-shirt with, I think, a navy cap- he looked so cute! Then came JC- wearing this v-neck white t-shirt- he looked HOT! :o) Last, but definitely NOT least, was Chris- wearing jean shorts that showed off his cute legs and a red t-shirt.... and his squirt gun that he decided he needed to show us what it could do. That was cool, though, because it was a hot day. So we all went back to our spots in the line, with most girls screaming, "I saw Justin! He's so hot!" Kara and me were like, the 2 people there saying- "Woah- they're like, even cuter in real life. All 5 of em are SO cute!" So anyways, they finally opened the doors and we all got to go inside. This place had an almost bar-like atmosphere, and there were 3 sections: 1st, there was the floor section in front of the stage, then, behind that, there was a step up with some tables and chairs and all, and then there was also a balcony- the place was jam packed! We were in the first section, second to last row... at the beginning of the concert. *grin* By the end, however, we had made our way up to about the 3rd row! That was cool... so anyways, 'N TYCE came out and did their thing, and then we had to wait some more for 'N SYNC to come out. Finally, the lights went off, and the guys came out in these white spacesuit lookin- outfits with helmets on. They danced to a Star Wars song (I think), and then froze and took off their helmets- all of us were on our feet snapping pics and almost everyone was screaming by then. The guys looked awesome, by the way. :o) After awhile, they took off the spacesuit things to reveal some jeans and basketball-styled jerseys. The jerseys were silver and had like, ribbing that glowed sorta with the lighting- it was cool. Justin wore a white t-shirt with the sleeves rolled up underneath, and I think the rest all just had wife-beaters on underneath... those guys... ummm... how can I put this? Their arms are pretty nice! *big smile* So anyways, they sang and danced and looked and sounded AWESOME as usual- they also wore sunglasses in a few songs. That was a nice touch!!! Now, before we went to this concert, people would say, "____ looked right at me at the concert!" and we would never believe it, but now we do! They look right into your eyes and smile and/or sing to you- sorta- and it's just really cool when they do that! I can't speak for Kara, but I know Lance looked at her a couple times, Joey winked at me and her during "You Got It," Justin smiled at her (and all the girls screaming his name around her got mad), ummm... I think Chris smiled at her once and so did JC I THINK. Now, let me tell you about me! :o) OK, first off, during the second song, Lance looked right at me (I SWEAR!) and like, smiled, then looked away, then looked back! He is a hottie, let me tell you! Kara told me that she saw him looking at me a lot actually... I must have missed most of em because I only saw him look my way a few times- but I have no problem with that! Then, during one of the many songs where Justin is in the center of the stage, he looked right over at me, and just to be sure it was me he was looking at, I smiled, and he gave me his big, teethy, adorable smile. So cute! Oh yeah, by the way, maybe I should say this first- I'm only 5'1", and like, everyone else there was really tall and wearing heels- I wasn't, so I was jumping up and down through the entire concert basically wearing a bright red shirt- so I think that probably attracted some attention my way. I mean, if I saw some short kid's head bobbing up and down, I would probably notice them quite a bit, too... they were probably up there laughing at me, actually... I probably would've been. *grin* So anyways, then there was the Joey wink during "You Got It," and there was this one time- Chris looked over at me and kinda got this like, "I'm a troublemaker" look and smile, and then he squirted me with his water gun. They did that a lot, which was a REALLY good idea because there had already been, like, 5 people that fainted probably. So anyways, now for the JC thing. This was indeed awesome. They introduced "God Must Have Spent A Little More Time On You," and this is one of my fave *N SYNC songs, and I was happy just to be hearing it! So anyways, they were singing it, and I was still jumping up and down to get pics of the cute dance and everything when JC's first solo part came up- and he looked RIGHT AT ME! He actually looked right into my eyes and sang, "In all of creation, all things great and small, you are the one that surpasses them all. More precious than any diamond or pearl (here he closed his eyes like he always does on the word 'pearl' then opened em again), they broke the mold when you came in this world (he pointed and I smiled, and he smiled and gave a little wink and I was like, speechless)" I was happy! When he first looked at me there, I just stopped jumping and stood- kinda stuck- to the floor. I couldn't believe he was looking right into my eyes and singing part of one of my favorite songs to me. I pulled Kara up to where I was standing because she was a couple of rows back, I think, and she like, knew that he had looked at me and sang to me and all. I was HAPPPY! He also looked over and smiled a few other times- AWWWWWW! He's SO sweet! So anyways, they changed again into some khaki pants, wife-beaters, and short-sleeved collared shirts over. Justin's was baby blue, Lance's was a tan-sorta color, Joey's was burgundy, JC's was dark green, and Chris' was kinda brownish. They looked good, ok? After awhile, Justin must have decided it was too hot for him because he took off the collared shirt and was just walkin around in his khakis and grey wife-beater. He STILL looked GOOD! So anyways, "Tearin' Up My Heart" started playing, and we knew it was the last song, so we pulled off our back packs and started getting out the teddy bears we brought. Kara and I had gone out and bought a teddy bear the night before for each of them and tied a note around each one's neck for the fellas. Lemme give a brief description of them. Joey's and Justin's were the same, but Justin's was baby blue and Joey's was tan. They were cute little bears that were like, laying back so that their stomachs were in the air. They were cute. Then JC's and Chris' were the same, but JC's was tan and had a blue and white ribbon around its neck while Chris' was a cream kinda yellowish color with a green and white ribbon. They were cute, too. Lance's was really cute- it was tan with a little pudgey face- it was adorable, too. So anyways, we were getting em out, handing them to Jeni, my friend, becuase she was a row or 2 closer than we were, and she just started throwing em up on stage without even aiming. Well, they all got up there, and we were down to the last one- Joey's- and she threw it up and hit Justin in his right shoulder. He is her favorite, and she was all embarrassed so she ducked down and everything. I was standing there cracking up, so he probably thought I had hit him becuase he turned around and gave this, "Hey! Who did that?!" look. It was pretty funny, actually. So then Lance picked up his bear from us, hugged it, and started dancing with it! IT WAS SO CUTE! When they all walked off, he was holding it to his chest, so he walked off with it. The other 4 bears were sitting up by the drum stand or something, and someone came by and scooped em up. Anyways, we were all giddy after the concert and we decided to go get something to eat since we hadn't eaten since, like, 2:00 that afternoon. We decided to go to Wendy's, and as we were driving, this bus passed us, and we thought maybe it was them, but when we got closer, we realized it wasn't- it was their band, though. So we were like, "Oh.. well that was still cool." So then we were going to Wendy's and Jeni's Mom got into the wrong lane so we had to turn right instead of left. We were waiting to pull into a parking lot next to a McDonald's to turn around, and Kara just started hitting me saying, "Amanda, Amanda, AMANDA!" So I looked up, and their bus was pulling out of where we were waiting to turn into! We saw them drive out and turn left in the direction we were going. Kara was like, "Did they just pull into Wendy's?! I think they did!" However, I said, "No.. they turned on the street before Wendy's, they're long gone..." So then we turned around and went down to Wendy's, but the drive was blocked, so we pulled into Bob Evan's next door. Well, Kara just started saying, "That's their bus! It's parked between Wendy's and Bob Evan's!" Then I looked over and said, "That's Chris standing outside!" So we pulled in, parked, and got out. Jeni had bought something at the concert and she was the only one who had any film left at all. So we went up to him, said "Hi" and all, and she had him sign whatever it was that she bought. Oh yeah, he had been talking to a couple other girls, too who had been following them around for their last few concert I guess and all they were talking about was Justin- asking if he was going to come out or if Chris would give him a love note for them.... So anyways, we were just talking for a little bit, and Jeni mentioned how she had hit Justin with a bear, and Chris was like, "You hit him in the head?!" all excitedly- that was funny- and she was like, "No, like, right here" and pointed towards his shoulder. Well, Chris was trying not to laugh and was just like, "Well, I think he's OK..." :o) So then I asked him if he got the bear we threw up for him and if the other guys got theirs and everything. He was like, "Which one was mine?" and I told him that "it was kinda yellow-creamish colored... had a note tied around the neck.." and he goes, "Oh yeah! The were set up on the drum stand. Someone scooped em up for us." and then he said something about them being or going to be on the bus and that they would get them. We were all smiles. Then, there was a pause after a bit, so I just came right out and said, "Can I have a hug?" and he was like, "Sure!" He gave the security guard his Sharpie back and gave me this NICE 2-armed hug... I was DEFINITELY happy!!! Then he went and gave Jeni and Kara both a one-armed hug (because he went from one right to the other and they were next to each other). Then he was going to leave and Jeni asked him if we could get a pic real quick. He said yeah or whatever and put his right arm around Jeni and had his left arm open for either me or Kara. Well, I just kinda, ya know... jumped in front of her so it could be me next to him- hey, I'm older! So he put his left arm around my shoulders too, but then Kara came and stood next to me, and Chris is such a sweetie that he pulled me in closer so as to have part of his arm around Kara, too... *big grin* I was OK with that, too! Then we all said our good-byes and he was walking to the bus when Jeni goes, "Hey Chris, is Lance a Mississippi Albino? I heard the Rick Dee interview." Chris started cracking up and it was SO funny! He was like, "I don't know what you're talking about..." He was laughing the whole time joking around- it was really funny if you were there. He was like, "I never said anything like that..." or something along those lines. He's a really funny guy- and oh yeah, his eyes are AWESOME! When we walked up, he was wearing those jean shorts that showed off his adorable legs again with a black t-shirt this time. He had his hair in braids all pulled up on top of his head- he didn't have any blond braids in or anything, and the first thing we noticed when we got close enough were his eyes. This guy has the cutest eyes! They're, like, puppy dog brown eyes, and they SPARKLE SOOOOO much! He's so cute! Anyways, then we went our separate ways and we haven't been able to go to another concert or anything since. I think the weirdest/coolest thing was that about a week before the concert, Kara turned to me and said, "You know, I have a feeling that we're going to meet at least one of the *N SYNC guys. I don't know why, but I just think we will..." Then I said, "Either Chris or Lance.... if we meet 2, it'll be Chris and Lance, but if we only meet one, it'll be Chris." She said, "I was thinking Chris and Joey- I have to get a hug from Joey!" Then I just shook it off and said, "Nope, it'll be Chris if we meet one of em." And it was, and we did! That was really cool.... wow... maybe everyone does have some psychic powers after all.... ;o)
