Honor and the Scorpion

This page is a rant area for my ideas on Scorpion related card combos for all deck archetypes as well as trying to attain my goal in the game of making a very worth while honor running Scorpion deck.

Bayushi Yojiro Exp2-

Hmmmm now all the uses should become clear when I just mention this man. Though if you don't realise some of them, here you go. First off, he is cheap for a champion and he has very nice stats. Just make sure you plop down your Celestial Sword, a Dragon's Claw Katana, or have a couple Fortress of the Dragonfly out before you start using his ability. He has also got a great second ability in the fact that he raises all the personal honor of your Scorpion personalities in play by 1. This so happens to increase your personalities honor as he comes into play and before you gain the honor. So you can net 1 honor off a 0 personality at full, counteract Shosuro Yadoka's honor loss completely by bringing him in full while Yojiro is in play. He also allows Shosuro Yasuko to target an even broader range of Samurai. He makes your personalities with 2 personal honor to now have 3 and make use of cards like, To Do What We Must, Let Your Spirit Guide You, and Kakita Technique. Alot of uses for a cheap champion. Not to mention when he comes into play he increases his own personal honor before you gain it so you net 3 honor off of this cheap champion at full.

The Code of Bushido-

Another unassuming card, that can be brought to better use than just sitting in your binder or card box. First and foremost this card can help a duel oriented honor runner immensely. Don't you get tired of having your opponent's samurai decline your Iaijutsu Challenge. I know I do, well now you can put a stop to it. Hit them with Code of Bushido, they have to accept. Since you challenged them to a duel, you knew you were most likely going to win, and BAM!. A 5 point honor gain to rocket your honor up that turn. It can also allow you to cancel someone playing Frenzy on one of your personalities that might have some nice followers attached. Well I am still thinking of uses, but I like the card none the less.

Last Gift-

Let's take a look at this unassuming card. It doesn't seem all that useful, but it can be in a Scorpion duel/honor deck. It can be used with Yasuko to increase her personal honor to target a samurai. It can be used to up one of your zero personal honor people to be able to lobby for the favor. You could use it to increase an opponent's personal honor by 1, then dishonor the personality, and kill the personality with Judgement, a duel, Kolat Assassin, what not to cause a larger loss of honor when the personality dies dishonorably. It can also increase your personal honor to allow you to attach better followers, or items, like the Imperial Standard or the Golden Obi of the Sun Goddess. It can increase your personalities personal honor to make use of cards like To Do What We Must, Let Your Spirit Guide You, and Kakita Technique (this all couples well with Bayushi Yojiro Exp2 being out in play). In short it is alot more useful than it appears.

Secrets on the Wind-

Wow, this is most likely the staple card in every dishonor deck known to man. Yes, it's uses in those decks seem very obvious. Dishonor the personality and then follow with, Shame, Remorseful Seppuku, a challenge by Judgement, a kill from Kolat Assassin. Though it has other uses as well. Howabout, dishonoring out all of the opponent's people so he can't lobby anymore. Dishonoring a Samurai so he is completely targetable by Shosuro Yasuko. Coupling the amount of Dishonored people with One Virtue and Seventy Faults, to create an extra card drawing engine. You could also Iaijutsu Challenge and Lessons a dishonored personality freely without giving your opponent an honor gain if he happens to win. The dishonored personality is only rehonored. Many uses for a cheap spell.

Shosuro Yasuko-

Yasuko, is the gold and corrected version of Yogo Asami. She is quite good in both dishonor/honor running decks. She can combine well with Bayushi Yojiro Exp2, and she is also quite useful with Last Gift, Yoshi's Fan, and Dragon's Claw Katana. All of these cards raise her personal honor so she can be more effective against samurai inclined attack decks, and this includes just about every clan, except Shadowlands, but even most Shadowlands decks pack Voitagi. She also couples with Diplomatic Apprentice well. This allows Yasuko to use her ability twice, stunting two samurai that might have possibly attacked you. She lends herself well to Outmaneuvered in Court, as she is a courtier. All of this can combine and make Untrustworthy a useful dishonor card for a dishonor deck. You could also use Untrustworthy on yourself if you needed to generate a 5 point honor loss. You can also use Dark Secrets and Secrets on the Wind to lower opposing samurai personal honor as well.
