Shoju's Letter

It has been a week since the minor Mantis clan had attacked our beautiful palace of Otosan-Uchi. The battle was long and hard, but the Dragon have come to defend our castle. I write to you now in a time of despair. I have heard the Ronin Toturi's army is approaching the palace and should be here within the week. It is disturbing to me that this ronin dare to attack the Imperial Palace and the Emperor, but he dares, and so do the upstart minor clans.
I know we have had our differences my friend and that both our clans seem to be outcasts within this empire. I ask one thing of you, to house my family and to keep control of Ryoko Owari. It is our city and we should keep control of it. My family needs protection until this war ends. I will be giving up the throne to this ronin, but I am still the Emperor. I will once again be within the shadows, my friend, but this time the shadows will be fighting back.
I must go now, as I have heard that an emmissary from the dragon is coming to my court, and I must prepare my plan and put my house in order. I fear the worst for this Empire of ours. I hope that we can take back what is ours once this war ends.
