"Diego Garcia Yacht Club"-was established in May 1979 by a group of yachting enthusist for the mutual benefit of ALL ISLAND residents and transient personnel who were interested in any aspect of the sport. Since its inception, the Yacht Club has flourished and now has over 10,800 members on the island and at large. We are affilated with the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) and the United States Naval Sailing Association (USNSA).

The Yacht Club sponsors and organizes monthly socials, day sailing, regattas, including instruction in WINDSURFING and SAILING. The Club also runs it own shop, selling a variety of beach wear and leisure items. The shop operating hours are from 1630-1930 on Thursday & Friday and from 0900-1930 on Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays.

So come on down and enjoy our "WEEKEND BAR" while you listen to Jimmy Buffett or just the waves rush in. Our staff Pete, Danny, Rowel, Jimmy and new staff member, Marina Danny will assist you while you enjoy your stay.

"Routine Events"

SOCIALS- Every 2nd Saturday @ 1900.
SAILAWAYS- 3rd weekend, every other month.
REGATTA- Sunday afternoons @ 1300, other races as published.

MONTHLY MEMBERS MEETING-The 1st Tuesday of each month @ 1800.
