Funakoshi Sensei has authored many books but this small text is unique because it is his life story in his words. The master talks about growing up in an hoorablefamily of Samurai lineage. He discusses his training and talks with the legendary masters Itosu and Azato. My Way Of Life should be required reading for any serious student of the martial arts. Funakoshi Sensei also talks about the deep mutual respect between him and Judo founder Jigaro Kano and Kano's influence on karate. Get first hand telling of how karate was intorduced into Japan from Okinawa and how Funakoshi became known as the Father of modern karate. Karateka from any traditional style will aappreciate this book. It reads easily and is very inexpensive...usually around $5-$7....in softback. Thanks for your time and Enjoy it!
