Part 2

In the studio

“OK, so now that we're here, who can see us?” asked Molly

“No one. Only children and animals can see us. That is unless we make ourselves be seen-which is the ultimate no-no,” replied James

Just as he finished, in walked the huge group of guys. James stood stiffly as he watched his old friends walking in talking and laughing. It still hurt like heck but James didn’t let on.

“All right. BSB in booth one and *NSYNC in booth two. Nice to see you guys,” said Max Martin who was sitting in the control room.

“Good to see you too, Max,” stated the boys

“I’m glad to see you guys are happy. I was worried things may be kind of depressing around here.”

“We already had our depression fest outside,” said AJ putting his headphones on

“Good. You’ll find the music on your stand.” Just then an extremely tall blondish brown haired woman walked in the control booth with her friend.

“Oh, I didn’t know fans were going to be here.” said Max standing to greet the ladies

“Actually I’m Brian’s sister, Alexandra, and this is my best friend, Samantha,” stated Lexie, a bright smile on her face. She was beautiful in that girl next door sort of way. She had the high cheekbones and strong chin typical of the Littrell family. Her sky blue eyes held a look of excitement and hope. She wore her silky blondish brown hair down and it flowed over her green waist length sweater. She was thin and the short black mini skirt she wore hugged her waist comfortably. On her legs were black nylons followed by black knee high boots.

“Nice to meet you, I’m Max,” he said standing up and shaking hands with the girls.

“Were not too late are we?” asked Sam.

“No, we were just about to start.”

“Hey Lexie, whose your friend?” asked Brian settling into the booth with the guys.

“How do I talk to him?” Lexie asked Max.

“Press this and speak.”

“Hey Bri-guys this is Sam.”

“That’s Sam?” asked Brian looking at the rest of the guys.

“Yeah, why?” questioned Lexie.

“I thought Sam was a guy! Why didn’t you tell me he was a she?” asked Brian dumbfounded

“You never asked, Silly,” stated Lexie laughing.

“Hi, Brian, guys. I’ve heard tons about you!” exclaimed Sam

“Hey is someone going to introduce us to the two very beautiful ladies in tech booth?” asked Joey

“Back off, Fatone, you hormonally challenged Superman Freak,” said Brian playfully “That’s my sister and her friend.”

“Which one is your sister?” asked Justin.

“I am,” replied Lexie

“Sweet,” said Joey giving her a flirty smile.

“Same old Joey,” said James softly.

“You say something?” asked Molly.

“Huh? Oh no, I didn’t,” he covered.

There is something strange about that, thought Molly.

“Hey, guys I got an idea-can we record today? I mean I don’t know what you guys had planned but I kind of wanted to make an album,” said Max.

“Sure, sorry Max. Let’s get to work,” stated Kevin.

Back in Heaven a few hours later

“What was up with you?” asked Molly.

“What are you talking about, Mol?” asked James

“You know perfectly well what I mean. What was up with you at the studio? Why were you so tense?” she queried.

“What are you on? I wasn’t tense,” said James.

“You were so especially when Backstreet and *NSYNC....,” Molly trailed off.

“What? When Backstreet and *NSYNC what?” asked James

“Right before I died I remember watching MTV. I was pretty out of it but I do remember catching MTV news. I barely heard Kurt Loder but I remember him saying that Lance Bass of *NSYNC had been killed by a drunk driver. He was on his way home from Johnny Wright’s house when a car crossed over the center line of the highway and hit him head on. Lance’s real name was James,” she reminisced shutting her eyes tight with concentration.

“So what’s your point?” asked James nervously.

“My point is that you were tense around *NSYNC today and I heard you whisper ‘same old Joey’ when he was shamelessly flirting with Alexandra. You’re Lance Bass, aren’t you?” asked Molly softly.

“What in the world are you talking about? I’m not Lance Bass of *NSYNC! Besides, Lance has blonde hair and I have black.”

“Hello? Ever hear of hair dye? The similarities are too coincidental! He’s short, you’re short. He’s thin, you’re thin. He’s got a deep voice, you’ve got a deep voice. You even have similar personalities. When I first was assigned to you, you were really shy. The as we got to know each other you became a really great friend. You love video games and you even have a little bit of a southern accent.”

“So what, big coincidence.”

“OK, Lance, whatever. Look I got some planning to do before we go back. See ya at 6 o’clock,” and with that she was off.

Few moments after James and Molly arrive back on Earth

“OK, guys it sounds great but I think that’s all for today. See you bright and early tomorrow,” stated Max

“Thanks, Max-hey guys wanna grab something to eat?” asked Kevin

“Sounds like a plan,” said Brian.

“Hey mind if we tag along?” questioned Chris

“Yeah, us too!” exclaimed Lexie

“Sure you guys are welcome to come. Now where do we wanna eat?” asked Kevin.

“Mickey D’s!” yelled AJ.

“No way, pizza,” said Nick.

“I’m up for Chinese,” replied JC.

“Hey why don’t we go to the Olive Garden. I love Italian food!” Lexie said forcefully.

“I’m with her. Italian sounds great,” stated Joey.

“Let’s just go to Applebee’s. That place always works when we can’t decide,” said Justin.

Everyone agreed and they all got in each other’s cars to go to Applebee’s. All the while Molly and James hot on their heels.

Few moments after everyone arrives at Applebee’s

“Hey hand me the ketchup,” said AJ.

“Get your hands off my plate,” exclaimed Chris to a sneaky Justin.

Everyone was eating and conversing around a large semi-circle table. The seating arrangement had JC and Howie sitting next to each other. Next to Howie was AJ and next to AJ was Chris. Sitting near Chris was Justin and next to Justin was Nick. On Nick other side was Brian and sitting rather close to him was Sam. Next to Sam was Lexie and sitting almost on top of her lap was Joey. Finally at the end of it all was Kevin.

“That was a great session today,” stated Kevin cutting his steak.

“Yeah, I was really impressed. I didn’t know what to expect but it was cool as ice,” said Justin sipping his Mountain Dew.

“You guys were awesome! I love that one song-what was it? Oh, Lexie, you know,” stated Sam nudging her friend.

“Oh you mean ‘Hey Girl?’” she asked munching on a golden French Fry

“Yeah, that one. It’s totally awesome,” Sam replied

“Thanks, we actually wrote that together,” stated Chris.

“OK, we’ve gotta make our move,” whispered Molly.

“Mol, why are you whispering? They can’t hear you, you’re dead,” said James with a smirk.

“Sorry, force of habit. Here goes,” said Molly.

“Wait, what are you going to do?” asked James

“You’ll see,” replied Molly smiling.

She floated in between Brian and Sam. She softly suggested something in Brian’s ear and glided back to her spot next to James.

“You look really beautiful, Sam,” whispered Brian leaning next to Sam.

‘Where did that come from?’ wondered Brian.

“Um.....thanks, Brian,” said Sam blushing a cherry red.

“That’s all you’ve got?” asked James

“Hey give me a break, I’m just learning!” exclaimed Molly.

“Watch and learn, Amateur,” replied James floating in between Bri and Sam.

A cool breeze whooshed past Brian.

“Did you feel that?” asked Bri to Sam

“Yeah it got really cold all of the sudden,” she replied.

Brian felt a cold touch on his arm. It went away as quickly as it arrived but he had the sudden urge to hold Samantha’s hand. It was all he could think about, but he had to figure out a way to do it smoothly.

“Uh, can I see your hand?” he asked sheepishly.

“Um...I guess. Why though?” asked Sam wondering what was up with Brian.

“I just want to see something,” he stated picking up her hands “My God, Sam your hands are freezing!”

“I’m always like that. I just got used to it,” she replied sweetly.

“Well let’s see what I can do to warm them up,” he said encasing her hands in his.

“H..h..how did you do that?” asked Molly completely dumbfounded.

“Practice, my dear, practice,” he stated in a sweet deep voice.

“Bri, Sam, what are you doing?” asked Lexie seeing the two holding hands.

The two stumbled for words and suddenly Sam found her voice.

“My hands were cold and he was just trying to warm them,” she said slipping her hands out of Brian’s grasp.

“Oh, Bri don’t even try. Her hands always were cold, they are always cold, and they will be cold until the end of time,” stated Lexie smiling.

“Do your hands ever get cold?” asked Joey of Alexandra.

“Not usually,” she replied.

“Well, I think I should check just to be safe,” stated Joey taking Lexie’s hands in his own.

“Move quick, don’t ya?” she asked as the rest of *NSYNC rolled their eyes at him.
