Originally called "for you," J played me the riff of what he had for the song, and I thought it was one of his best to date. It was so raw and expressive that I went to work right away to write up the lyrics for it. What is the song about? Well, I hate to sound "soft" or whatever, but it is a love song. Many parts are taken from a poem I wrote for my girlfriend Leanne called, "could i call" and I just took that poem, made them lyrics and out came the song. That's all it is really about, just me saying what I would do for her, and keeping a focus on how much pain I would go through for her (which is the final line in the chorus.) J organized it to where the climax of the song is in the chorus to express the absolute point. However, the song is not "soft" by any means. I love Leanne and all, but I am not going soft to sing her a ballade. The song is very heavy hitting with a mix of Black Sabbath's flat out heavy metal riffs with a modern day band like Type-O-Negative for the love lyrics, and then Pantera did a power bomb on it to give it the hardcore edge. J and I both agreed we can kick the asses of all the hardcore people listening to it, but we can still take the time and sing a tune for the ladies. Like they say in the heavy metal music industry, "every tough guy has a soft side."
