Tharp was the second-highest finishing senior at the 1995 U.S. Olympic Festival; therfore, she qualified to compete in her first World Championships in Vienna, Austria, in September 1995. Tina has retired from gymnastics and is now and assistant coach at International Rhythmic Gymnastics.
