The birth of the CEC is part of a larger movement among
Christians that seeks a convergence of the ancient stream of catholicity
with the equally ancient evangelical and charismatic streams. Our churches
combine the elements of solid biblical values and orthodox, evangelical
teaching with charismatic ministry and sacramental worship.

A note on the word "episcopal":
It simply means "having bishops." To avoid confusion, we should mention that the CEC is distinct from the denomination called
The Episcopal Church in the U.S.A. (ECUSA), which is the regular U.S. branch of the Anglican Communion. However, the CEC does have an Anglican "flavor" and many parishes make use of the
Book of Common Prayer.
