Can a believer (lose) his
salvation according to the Word of God?
No
* Can a believer (Forfeit through
sin, disobedience and rebellion) his
salvation according to the Word of God?
Yes
God alone is the authority on salvation
through grace!!! (not Billy, not Oral,
not Charles) And with His Word He
declares in Hebrews 5:8-9 talking about
Jesus (the fulness of grace-John
1:14,16), "Though He were a Son, yet He
learned obedience by the things which He
suffered; And being made perfect,
He became the author of
eternal salvation unto all them that
obey Him;"
The issue is not one day you're saved
and the next day maybe, you wake up the
next morning and you can't find your
salvation, you lost it etc... No sir,
you can't
charge God with parental neglect.
But the issue is something you
did.
Compare the same principle in Revelation
2:4 "Nevertheless I have somewhat
against thee, because thou hast
left thy first love."
There's a big difference between "lost"
and "left". You can't lose your
first love!
But you can according to the Bible
leave it! This was a choice or
neglect you made! God will honor your
choice, He'll chastise your neglect.
Life or Death, choose life that
you may live O house of Israel for "I
have no pleasure in the death of the
wicked; but that the wicked turn from
his way and live: turn ye,
turn ye from your evil ways;
for why will you die, O house
of Israel"(the covenant people)--Ezek
33:11
Many Christians will say that was the
Old Covenant why are you quoting from
the Old when we're living in the New.
Don't you know the
Covenant has changed. Yes the Covenant
has changed, but God hasn't and never
will ...I am the Lord, I change
not (Mal 3:6)---with whom is no
variableness, neither a shadow of
turning. (James 1:17)---Jesus Christ
the same yesterday, and to day, and
forever (Hebrews 13:6; 1:11-12)
God's attitude towards sin,
disobedience, and rebellion will never
change whether in the OLD, "The soul
that sinneth, it shall die"(Ezek
18:4,13,18,20,26) or in the NEW, "He
that despised Moses' law died without
mercy under two or three witnesses:
Of how much sorer punishment, suppose
ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath
trodden under foot the Son of God, and
hath counted the blood of the covenant,
wherewith he was sanctified, an
unholy thing, and hath done despite unto
the Spirit of grace?"
(Hebrews 10:28-29)
If you don't follow on and to know
the Lord and do what is right, you'll
lose out in the end! Jesus did talk
about us keeping His commandments,
they're not grievious! And it wasn't
optional, you'll still go to heaven
whether you keep them or not; not
according to John 8:31-32; 14:15; 15:10
And you'll always notice whether in the
OLD or the NEW Covenants you will see
the word "IF"; You got a choice to
choose in the matter...
You can continue or discontinue in
grace (Acts 13:43)
You can grow or not grow in it
(2Pet 3:18)
You can receive or reject it
(John 3:16; Rev 22:17; Heb 12:15; James
4:6)
A simple and practical definition of
grace and our eternity was given by Paul
in Romans 2:7-11, "To them who by
patient continuance in well doing
seek for glory ad honour and
immoratlity, eternal life: But unto
them that are contentious, and do not
obey the truth, but obey
unrighteousness, indignation and
wrath, tribulation and anguish, upon
every soul of man that doeth evil, of
the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;
but glory, honour, and peace, to every
man that worketh good, to the Jew first,
and also to the Gentile: For
there is no respect of persons with
God!!!
What about the "Prodigal Son" many will
ask? "Once a Son, always a Son,
right!" (sound familiar)
Many will quote Luke chapter 15
in
an attempt to relinquish any
responsibility for themselves and their
actions! It's not funny how these ear
tickling teachers and preachers never
point out the fact that the son had to
return inorder to be restored and the
more severe fact that the Father (which
represents our God and Father) testifies
in Luke 15:24, "For this my son
was dead, and is alive
again; he was lost,
and is found.." Ask yourselve why is
the whole counsel of God edited
to sooth the flesh (Acts 20:27)
