Some say that Christ was a divine incarnation. Others think he was just a nice guy. To me, he is an example of what a fully evolved human being is like- pure, healing, accepting, loving, compassionate...everything everyone truly desires to be but tend to put off because it isn't easy. In my opinion, heroes are those people who are- or were- on the path to becoming perfect individuals. Their fame was not to elevate others; it was to lead the masses thru the hell of the mundane and into the joy that can be found in the world around us in a true connection with God. Now don't get me wrong, I have my faults, but I know in my heart that what I really want-- what I'm seeking deep in my soul- is purity, is the infinite, unconditional love that NO human being can provide- simply because humans are...only human. Take a look around; some of these I don't consider heroes persay, just interesting figures, but maybe you'll see something that inspires you and guides you in the right direction. If not, you can always pick up a few facts for trivia (which, by the way, is the Latin word for "three roads"; when three roads intersect, people came together to exchange information)
These are the names I had listed on the date I last updated my page, which was 4/4/01 :
And as an addendum (11/11/02), here are some others who I've come to admire.
