11/22/98 - 2/14/2001 - missing years. Here is a summary:
WEB PAGES - I've started a few other web addresses. I will list them later.
At this site, I continued the family tree search (see below) and added a
family crest and some more names to the European
chart on this JPG image.
FAMILY PHOTOS -
I also added a few albums of photos of the
grandchildren and have added
links to them on the main page and on a few other pages. It's hard to
believe how fast the time flies and how fast the kids are growing. At the
time, Angelfire had a 5 meg limit that I was approaching rapidly with the
kids' photos, so I "continued" the family album at another site. But you
will not see the difference when you look at the pictures, except for a
new banner ad on the top of the pages and a new "home" link at the bottom
of the pages, if you happen to make that link.
P.S. Angelfire is now combined with Lycos and the new
page limit is 50 megs. Hint: Free pages are still available at
Angelfire.
FAMILY TREE SEARCH -
The family tree for Europe is updated, if nothing else. Carlos Grolimund and
his uncle Paco in Madrid got in touch with Alois in Switzerland. Alois had
been doing genealogy research for several years. Then in May 1999, there
was a family reunion in Beinwil
in Switzerland, which was organized by Alois. I have added
two or three other pages of correspondence from the time
just before and just after the "GROLIMUND FEST 1999," as well
as a later history lesson from Alois about the
SCHWARZBUBENLAND area from which
the Grolimund families originate. The area has this name which
translates as "Land of the Black Boys" and Alois has researched
and found about ten or more possible sources for the origin of
this name for this area. He lists nine of the possible reasons
and hints that there are other stories that are also connected
with the legends of the "Black Boys" of Switzerland. Whether
the "black" refers to their coffee, their camouflage (disguise),
the Black Forest, or the color of their souls, is still a mystery.
But Alois says that the "SCHWARZBUBEN" folks are proud of their name.
BACK IN PENNSYLVANIA -
Rosie and Paul have now made two trips to Florida. Don't forget that
I gave Rosie some page space here at my willnet1.
She has sent me some other goodies (and good old junk mail) that I might
add or link to her page. She and Paul are getting quite HTML-literate, so I
won't be surprised if she doesn't set up her own page, soon. And Angel (my
niece, Andrea, Andy's baby girl) now has a second
page that I know of,
and maybe one or two others that are more private. And she still has her first
pages here at Angelfire.
BRADENTON -
Kevin (Chris) and his Grandma (Sandy's Mom) are still doing fine on the
other side of the river (from Ellenton). Kevin now has a nice computer
and is learning how to use it. But his first love on the PC is GAMES,
so I doubt he will be posting a page. Suzanne sends me the photos of the
grandkids by using an AOL service that gives me an access code to go
get them.
SANDY - My wife is too busy balancing the checkbook to have a web page.
She is also too busy to check her mail
and asks me to check it for her once every week or two. (It must be
nice to have a private secretary to get your email for you.)
DANCING - BALLROOM - including, but not limited to:
. . . in Bradenton in April of 2000.
. . . in Orlando in November of 2000.
In these last two comps, my wife and I also did our Argentine Tango routine.
And I finally have a pro partner again for the pro-am dances.
(Thanks, Marcie. And thanks to Steven for
continuing to be Sandy's pro partner and our regular instructor/coach. Marcie was
Steven's pro partner when they won the pro championships several years ago.)
I'll think of some items that I missed and fill in some of the blanks.

Happy New Year (Chinese version)
02/14/2001 - Today marks the end of the THIRD year of my first web site.
WEB PAGES -
I started a new "NEWS" page and archived the
old one. At the top of
this page, I tried to fill in the gap with a brief
summary of events from the last time I updated the NEWS.
DANCING - ARGENTINE TANGO -
A few weeks ago, at the end of January, Sandy and I attended and competed at the
World-Famous (not) FIRST ANNUAL "Sarasota Tango 2001"
event. (The page on this link was sritten by Nicole using the "Easy Designer"
program at AOL.) The event was well attended and Diego & Carolina, the guest
performers/coaches were fabulous.

MSIE 5.5 does not display all images, but 6.0 is about 95%.
but I will soon have to update to maintain compatibility
Netscape 7.1 and Mozilla 1.2.1/5.0 are still being tested, as well as Opera 6.05.
and I make no attempts to assure compatibility with AOL (sorry).
Netscape has fallen behind since AOL bought them out, but hang in there.

2003- July 13
I have been updating the Pennsylvania ancestry page based on email that I have
been getting from distant cousins. Other than that, these pages have been pretty
stagnant. Besides the yardwork, occasional family outings, a dance now and then,
and other honey-do's, most of my other free time is spent reading and answering
emails. I haven't even "developed" all of the photos I've taken with the digital
camera in the last few months. And I know my brothers and sisters are waiting for
some family photos to add to their collections. (I visited my family and the old
hometown about 5 weeks ago.) Rosie has put together some pretty nice albums,
including some ancient pictures of grantparents, great grandparents, great uncles, etc.
And I need to update and expand some of the photo sections of these web pages -
especially for the grandchildren, who are growing up fast.
That was just a short "nothing" to fill in this link that appears here and there
in my pages. Someday, maybe I will fill in some history of the Florida Grolemund
families.
But I doubt that anyone reads these ramblings, in any case, other than the
family tree charts.
Since mid to late 2003,
Netscape 7.1 (Mozilla) seems to be doing much better. MSIE 6.0 has improved.
I make no attempts to determine or assure compatibility with AOL (sorry).
(I'm not trying to fix compatibility in my pages - yet - but it seems
that the "updated" browsers are getting most of their bugs fixed. AOL is
probably also addressing compatibility issues.

2004- April 11
Well, it is embarassing when someone tells me they were reading these "What's new" pages.
And there is nothing new - sorry. That doesn't mean that there is nothing new, only
that I haven't updated the pages. But if it's your first time here, it is all
new to you. But be forewarned, these "what's new" pages are just ramblings, more to
myself than to anyone in particular. So, in a way, I guess I was doing B-LOGS long
before BLOGS were even cool. It's probably a fad that will die out fast. Who wants
to keep a personal diary that everyone reads. Unless you have so many "fans" that
you can't write to them all, well, I guess that is a good excuse for not writing
personal letters. Just send them a link to your BLOG. Add some junk mail, of course.
I made a few changes to my personal photo page adding a more
recent family shot (Nov 03- already old).
And I changed a few of the others to show some events that Sandy
and I attended (also old). I have a ton of pictures of the grandkids, but I need some time to sort
them out into a few albums (sets of 10) to display only the highlights. Grandparents
are not noted to be too discreet about photos of grandchildren. The kids are sweet
and beautiful (at photo time, anyway) and they are growing up so quickly. Or is it just
that time is going faster? I've said all this before.
I still get an occasional email from a distant relative asking a question or giving me
a few tidbits. I am guilty of not following up on all the leads, but I've been pretty busy
the past year. Don't give up on me. I will try to find a way to acknowledge your input.
If your name is Grolemund or Grolimund (or something close), there is a chance there is a
connection, even if we don't see it right away. Some of my aunts and uncles flew the coop
long before I was born, and didn't visit very often. And I never took the time to talk to
my folks or Grandma Rose to find out where all the family history was kept.
My sisters recently (last year or two) dug into the old shoe boxes and came up with some
interesting photos and a few notes. It seems nobody that I know collected copies of
obituaries. But some people I don't know did.
Hey, you out there, you know who I mean.
Just click here and send me a short note. Then get
back to me after you talk to your parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc. A good source
is the older folks in the towns where your ancestors grew up.

Hi Folks,
I deleted some of the hidden code now that you know how to get to it.
But I just left this in because there was space before
the bottom of the rainbow.
Now you don't see it
, now you do see it.
