Six Red Sox pitchers combined for a perfect game in Boston's 5-0 spring-training win over Toronto at City of Palms Park.
The six pitchers were Pedro Martinez, Fernando De La Cruz, Rich Garces, Rheal Cormier, Dan Smith and Rod Beck.
Most of the pitchers, including Beck, had no idea they were making obscure history.
Beck said "When the game was over, I turned around and saw they put it on the scoreboard
I thought, wow, that's pretty neat, a perfect game.
Beck wasn't the only one clueless. About half of the record crowd of 7,139 left by the seventh inning.
