Publicity at the Beginning

5ive was letting everyone know who they were around the world with their hit Slam Dunk (Da Funk). It got serious radio play. It even got into the top ten in British Pop Charts. 5ive's radio company began getting media requests for interviews and photo shoots. The teen press were all over 5ive. The guys posed for hundreds of pictures and answered thousands of questions. 5ive kicked off 1998 by going around the world to promote their album. They did radio interviews and album store apperances all over Europe, as well as in Asia and Australia. In March, Five's second single, "When the lights go out", was released in Europe. This hit climbed up the charts up to number four. This song got thousands of video requests. The guys packed their things and headed to the United States. They were ready to release their first single" When the lights go out". To promote it the guys went a publicity tour. They visited New York and Los Angeles. At this point the guys knew they were celebrities. Then they headed to other countries such as Belgium, Holland, Greece, and Sweden.
