Central Florida Andalusian Club Minutes 01/10/99 Ed. 2
Meeting call to order 12:10 p.m. Barbara Dudgeon
Barbara thanked Marie Dooley for starting club, Pam and Dan Hecht for hosting second meeting.
Introduction: Florida State Fair Horse Show
State Fair Book and new show bill were passed out.
Barbara asked for helpers and volunteers for Feb. 6-7 show.
It was suggested to review show bill for changes. It was also noted for next show to have junior horse walk-trot class and amateur walk-trot class to be separated. To be in place by May show.
Barbara stated we will be showing alone, in barn B, and arena beside barn B.
The next order of business was the club booth for the Florida State Fair.
A $1 fee was collected to form a club directory/Membership form. To be assembled by Pam Hecht.
Any advertising interest must be submitted to Pam by Feb. 1st. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Valorie Collante seconded the motion. Marie Dooley added that it should be a membership form also.
Gloria suggested coding sheet, . i.e. What each farm offers in services, bloodstock etc.
Gloria and Charmel are organizing the booth, it will be located next to Mary Beth Horns booth.
She will be at the fair bringing supplies that anyone may need.
Next, Tom Reed brought up sponsorship forms for the May show. No form is available at this time, volunteer needed for this.
Barbara said some retailers would rather donate items than money.
Marie Dooley suggested music and video. Idea was rejected for this show. due to lack of booth manpower.
Ken Green suggested a CFAC Banner.
Valorie Collante volunteered to create. Banner,colors were discussed, red and yellow and some logo representative of Florida. tentatively adopted.
For the club, A Florida logo should be adopted, permanently. Suggestions and ideas for logo need to be brought to the March meeting of CFAC. Will be voted for the official choice at that time.
Next CFAC meeting will be in March. Will be held at the home of Pam Hecht.
Barbara Dudgeon brought up a class at the fair, Freestyle class is a judged class not just an exhibition.
Three money classes, In-hand two and under, In-hand three and over, and costume class.(Please practice with costume before hand, no music available, all will enter at the walk.)
Tom Reed brought up potential exhibition opportunities. Suggestings were Gasparalli Festival, Sandy Werner added that there is a Parade of States in Tampa(?). Roy Colwell extended an open invitation to half time at the polo grounds.
Next order of Business was formation of committees:
Contact Committee- committee to disseminate information/Public relations, membership enrollment.

Pam reminded about the upcoming futurities.
Marie Dooley brought up the issue of dues. A twenty-five dollar membership fee was agreed upon.
Individual /Family/Farm same amount. Membership fee due at March meeting.
Marie Dooley nominated Charmel Price as treasurer. Charmel agreed. Larry Cooper agreed to be co-treasuer.
Will be checking into a bank account for CFAC.
Pam Hecht volunteered to contact Jerry Dale and the Mandina family of Hacienda del Sol about coming to the next meeting. Megan Reed will contact Roy Turnbaugh and Frank Eber.
Marie Dooley suggested the name for the newsletter, El Sueno.
Name was agreed and seconded.
