January 16th, 1999
Dear Central Florida Andalusian Enthusiasts,
The second meeting of the Central Florida Andalusian Club was held on January 10th, 1999. A tremendous amount of organizational work was done at this meeting. The excellent turn-out points to a bright future for "CFAC", the newly born club for Central Florida Andalusian enthusiasts. If you know of anyone who may not have been contacted, please share this letter with them and invite them to join! A list of committees is attached.
Committees were founded that will take CFAC through its first year. Each committee will have a group coordinator. Group coordinators will be in touch with each of their own group, the coordinators of other groups, and the two Chairpersons for the year. Workers for each of these committees are still being solicited. If you are not already on a committee, please select one and call the coordinator to get started!
Plans for a booth to distribute materials on the club and our horses at the Tampa State Fair Show, --- and shows in the future, --- were solidified, as well. A one dollar fee was collected from all who would like their farms or individual names to be listed in the directory which will be available to the general public at that booth. This directory will also serve as a membership list. Please have your farm information to Pam Hecht, by February 1st, if you wish to have your farm included for the February show. Pam’s telephone # is: ((813) 920-1154
One outcome of the meeting was the establishment of dues for the club. Membership, ( which includes all family members and your farm), is twenty-five dollars. Dues for 1999 will be collected at the March meeting. If you cannot attend that meeting, please send check or money order to Charmel Price. Call her at (941) 591-0925 for address.
A Newsletter has also been born! EL SUENO will be soliciting written pieces on a variety of subjects. Dig out the photos and share news, ideas and sage advice with Karen Lynch . Her phone # is: (813) 961-9609
CFAC is turning out to be a VERY dynamic group! Please support your new club, with input, attendance at meetings and by bringing in new members. The club’s promotion of Andalusians in Florida could skyrocket potential of this magnificent, user-friendly breed. All will eventually profit in innumerable ways if this group continues to work with the attitude and enthusiasm already shown.
Jubilantly,
The Secretarial Committee
