“Morning,” he said sleepily.

“Hey.”

“Let’s go somewhere today.”

“Where?”

“I dunno, sight-seeing?”

“You know, out of all the times I’ve been to New York, I’ve never been sight-seeing?”

“So let’s go.”

They got dressed and went out to see beautiful New York. Their first stop was at the Empire State Building. Ever since Alyson watched “An Affair to Remember,” she’d wanted to see the top.

They stayed there for the rest of the day, just exploring. When Alyson went to the bathroom, Brian followed her inside.

“What are you doing?”

“Something I’ve always wanted to do,” he said, kissing her neck softly.

“And what’s that?”

“You’ll see…” he said, pulling her into a stall and locking the door. He sat down and pulled her on his lap.

“You know,” she said after they were through, “I don’t think I’ll ever look at a public restroom the same again.”

“Me either.”

When they went back to the hotel, they ran into Jodi and A.J., who were huddled in a corner talking quietly.

“What did you two do all day?”

“Nothing much,” Brian said as Alyson giggled.

“Yeah, us too. Let’ go Jodi, I want to go back upstairs.”

“Me too.”

All four practically ran to the elevator to get to their rooms.

“So you and Jodi finally got together?” Brian asked.

“Yeah,” A.J. said, grinning.

They ran to their rooms and Alyson proceeded to remove Brian’s clothing. When Brian reached to get a condom, he found that they didn’t have any.

“Oh shit.”

“What’s wrong?”

“We’re out.”

“To hell with them.”

“What?”

“We’ll get some more tomorrow. For now, fuck ‘em.”

For the first time since they began sleeping together, they made love without protection.

As Alyson fell asleep, she muttered “Te amo.” (I love you.)
