AJ and Jodi held hands as they walked down the street. A few people stopped them to get AJ's autograph, but other than that, it was a quiet day.

"What do you want to do baby? I'm getting kind of tired of walking around with no where to go."

"Why don't we go to see the Statue of Liberty? We are in New York, after all."

He smiled, "Good idea."

They hailed a cab and AJ asked the cab driver to take them to the ferry for Ellis Island. He's always wanted to see the Statue of Liberty, but he never had time while he was in New York. He was always too busy working.

Jodi stood near the edge of the ferry, gazing at the water, as if mesmerized by it. The wind blew her hair in her face, but she just brushed it aside.

AJ stood next to her and watched her intently. He loved watching her hair blowing in the breeze, as her dark locks caressed her beautiful face.

"Jodi?"

"Yeah AJ?"

"Are you happy with me?"

"Of course I am. I haven't been so happy since..."

"Since he died?"

"Yeah."

"I know you're still hurting over it, but Jodi, you can't blame yourself. You didn't kill him. You can't live in the past."

"I know, I've got to 'look into the future.' But I don't know what that holds."

AJ placed his hand under her chin, making her look at him, "Me."

They spent all day at the Statue of Liberty, playing like little kids. At 5:00, Brian called AJ to tell him about Rae's friend. They decided to fly back down to Florida to help their friend.

As AJ and Jodi walked back to the hotel, they heard a car horn blaring. AJ barely had time to think before pushing Jodi out of the way onto the sidewalk. She watched in horror as the driver tried desperately to brake and swerve to avoid hitting AJ, but it was too late.

The tires let out a shrill cry of protest against the concrete. Jodi found her voice and screamed as the Toyota Camry hit AJ.

Jodi rusehd to AJ's side. Cradling his head in her lap, she sobbed. Blood covered his handsome face and body. His once bright green hair was now matted and dripping with blood as well.

"AJ baby, you've got to hang on for me, okay? I can't lose you too. Please baby..."

AJ looked up into his girlfriend's eyes and smiled weakly. He opened his mouth to speak and choked on his own blood. After a minute of coughing, he managed to speak.

"I promise... I won't leave... I..love...you," he said, then fell quiet.

"AJ please no! You can't die!"

The man in the Camry ran to her side, "Are you okay Miss? I've called an ambulance for your friend."

Jodi looked at him, enraged, "YOU KILLED HIM!" she screamed, "YOU KILLED MY AJ!"
