Howie pulled his arms from around Rae without waking her and climbed out of bed. He padded to Caroline's old room and opened the door, wishing he could talk to his sister.
He felt a soft tapping on his shoulder. When he looked up, he saw Caroline. Rubbing his eyes, he stared at his sister in shock.
"Yes Howie, it's me. I came to say goodbye. I should have done this sooner. I love you little brother."
"Caroline, I miss you so much. Things aren't great right now."
"I know, I've been watching over you all. Rae is a strong girl, she'll pull through this. Be there for her, cherish her, and love her. Most of all, don't take her for granted. She could be the best thing that's ever happened to you. I love you Howie, now answer the phone."
Howie opened his eyes and found that he was still in bed. It had all been a dream. He looked down at Rae, just as the phone started ringing.
"Hello? Yes, slow down Jodi, I can hardly understand you... WHAT? We'll be on the next flight up there." Howie hung up the phone and shook Rae.
"Five more minutes," Rae mumbled.
"Rae, you've got to wake up. We have to fly to New York. AJ was in an accident..."
