Kira awoke still wrapped in Kevin's arms and smiled to herself.

"I'll have to thank Tristan when I see her today."

"What was that baby?" Kevin asked sleepily.

"Nothing," she said, kissing him, "Sleep well?"

"Wonderfully, thanks to you."

"I'll send you a bill," she said, giggling.

He smiled and kissed her again, happy to have the old Kira back.

"Kevin?"

"Yeah?"

"Why did you stop trying to make love to me?"

"You never wanted to anymore. I thought you just needed time, and I was willing to wait for you. I love you Kira."

She closed her eyes for a moment, enjoying the morning.

"Kira, I have a question for you."

"Shoot."

"I was going to wait until after Nick and Tristan's wedding, but that's a little far off, and I can't wait anymore. Kira Jane Samuels, will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?" he asked, opening the velvet box he'd pulled from the drawer next to the bed.

Tears filled her eyes as she nodded frantically, "Yes, I will."

Kevin pulled the diamond and sapphire ring from the box and placed it on her finger, "I've dreamed of this moment from the first time we made love. I want to be with you forever."

She closed her eyes again, letting the tears flow, "I love you so much. And, however cliched it sounds, I thought you'd never ask me."

They made love again and then went downstairs to make breakfast.

"So who do you want to be the maid of honor?" Kevin asked chewing on a piece of toast.

"Tristan would be my first choice, naturally. But I'd feel bad for Roni. She and I are just as close as Tristan and I, but then again, Tristan made me her maid of honor. What are you laughing at?"

"You. You're putting so much thought into this, and it was just a simple question. We can answer it later though, we're going to be late for work. Why don't you go grab a shower while I do the dishes?"

"How did I get so lucky? A man who will do the dishes..."

"You'd better hurry before I change my mind," he warned playfully.

She jumped off the stool and ran upstairs. She quickly showered and dressed, then went back downstairs to let Kevin know that the shower was free.

As she reached the stairs, she heard Kevin talking heatedly to someone at the door.

"Look, I told you that I'm not intereted in you. I love Kira. You need to leave now, before I call the police."

Kira ran downstairs to see who it was at the door, and stopped dead in her tracks when she heard the voice.

"Kevin, I think you should reconsider. I could give you so much more than Kira ever could. Don't you remember the fun we had?"

"Shelley, it was one date, get over it. That was a long time ago, before I even met Kira. Leave now, before I call the cops," he said, slamming the door in Shelley's face.

Kevin turned to walk upstairs and came face to face with Kira.

"Kira I-"

"You didn't tell me you dated Shelley," she whispered.

"It was one date, that's all."

"Why didn't you tell me?"

"I didn't want you to get upset. Besides, it's in the past. You're my future Kira, you have to know that."

She nodded slowly, "You've hurt me before by hiding the fact that you were a Backstreet Boy Kevin, you'd better not hide anything from me again, or I swear you'll never see me again."

"I'm sorry you found out this way. I would've told you one day, after I was sure that you were totally over the Shelley thing."

"I believe that you would have, but I don't think I'll ever be totally over it. I still think I see her sometimes, hiding in the shadows, waiting to kill me. But then I realize that my mind is playing tricks on me. I'll be fine Kevin. Now go take a shower before we're late. I want to show Tristan my ring before practice."

"Yes ma'am," he said, snapping a salute.

Kira went upstairs with him and sat on the still unmade bed.

"I can't believe her, she's still trying to get my life. When is she going to stop?"

She looked around the room, not really seeing anything. Kevin found her sitting there.

"Kira?"

"Hmm?"

"Are you okay? You seem a little out of it."

"I'll be fine, just daydreaming."

"Of me I hope."

"Always."

He walked toward her and tried to envelop her in a hug.

"You're all wet!"

"So?"

"I'm dressed already Kevin. Scooch!"

He smiled and gave her a quick kiss, then grabbed some clothes from the closet.

Soon they found themselves at work, and Tristan, Roni, and Fatima oogling Kira's ring.

"Damn Kevin, you did a good job picking this out," Roni said, examining Kira's hand.

"Thanks, it took me weeks to find the right one," he said, pulling out his ringing cell phone, "Excuse me ladies."

Kevin stepped away for a minute and left them to talk.

"Did you do it?"

"Do what?" Roni said, looking over at Tristan.

"She planned a seduction last night."

"Yes, as a matter of fact, I did. I owe you big time T, last night was like a whole new world for us."

"Kira," Kevin said, walking up to the group, "I've got to go to the studio for a few hours. It seems that one of the producers accidentally destroyed some material and it's got a lot of my parts on it. I'll see you tonight, okay?"

"All right, I love you."

"Love you too," he said, kissing the top of her head.

"Ladies, back to work," Kira said as Kevin walked out the door, "I want to try the steps to the new song."
