"Your usual?"
"No, I'm meeting someone tonight. His name's Kevin."
"Oh yes, Kevin. He's over by your usual table. I'll show you."
He led her into the non-smoking section and over to a booth where Kevin sat waiting, patiently.
"Hello Kevin."
"Hi Kira," he said, standing up.
Kira took her seat, as did Kevin.
"Are you ready to order? I eat here all the time, so I know what I want."
"Sure. I'll have the fettucini alfredo and a large Coke."
"He'll have the same as me, Elena."
"See you in 25, Kira."
"you really eat here that often?"
"Yup."
"So what's up?"
"Too much."
"We came here so you can talk about what's bothering you."
"I don't even know your last name."
"It's Richardson, so spill."
"As you may know, I was in a pop group called Sliversin. We were fairly successful, but everything fell apart. I think all the fame destryoed our friendships. I finally broke one day and left the group. None of the girls have kept in touch, they're all doing their own things," she said and stopped.
"So what's wrong? You guys have been broken up for more than two years."
"I just found out that Janine got married today. I didn't even recive a wedding invitation. We were best friends. We were gonna be the maid of honor in each other's wedding, and here she is, getting married, and I'm not even invited."
Tears began to well up in her eyes and Kevin moved closer to her. Putting his arm around her, he said,"Please don't cry. How am I suposed to look into those baby blues with tears in the way?"
She smiled weakly, "I don't know."
"Dry 'em up," he said, handing her his napkin.
"Thank you."
For the rest of dinner, Kevin asked Kira questions about her life, wanting to know everything. He tried his best to keep her mind off Sliversin and Janine's wedding. Just looking in his penetrating green eyes was all she needed.
After dinner, Keivn took her to a secluded place on the beach where he often went to think and be by himself. They sat on a large rock and let the water gently lap at their feet while they talked.
"So, Kevin, what do you do?"
"I'm a singer and I dance."
"Really?"
"Yeah."
"Have you done anything that I'd know?"
"Nope."
"Oh well, it was worth a shot. Could you sing something for me?"
"Actually, I can't. I'm just getting over laryngitis and it still hurts."
"That's okay. I'll just hear you some other time."
He looked over at her and smiled, "It's a promise."
About 1:30. They decided that it was time to go home. Kevin took her back to the Olive Graden to pick up her car. He walked her to it and she turned to face him, "I had fun tonight. Thank you so much. I really needed this."
"It's no problem."
Kevin wanted to kiss her, but he wasn't sure if she'd let him. She pulled him to her, brushing her lips over his.
He put his arms around her and placed his hand on the small of her back. She, in turn, put her arms around his neck and buried her fingers in his hair. He kissed her agin softly. Running his tongue over her lips, she parted them, and he took the oppurtunity to enter. As his tongue touched hers, they both felt sparks of electricity run through their bodies.
After a few minutes, they pulled away from each other, breathless. There was an awkward silence when Kira finally spoke up, "It's late and I should probably go."
"Yeah, practice tomorrow."
"Yeah, I'll see you in the morning."
They got into their cars and as Kira started hers, Ricky Martin's "Private Emotion" filled the air. She still felt Kevin's lips on hers, remembering his taste. A smile played on her lips as she drove home.
