Kira tossed and turned in the bed. Voices rang through her head, memories came flooding back to her as if they were just happening.

"Get over yourself, Kira!"

"I can't do that Blake, I'd have to be full of myself first and you do that enough for all of us. What happened to you? You used to be so nice and now you're an incredible bitch."

Blake slapped her hard across the face.

"You'll regret that Blake, mark my words."

Kira woke up in a cold sweat. She got up out of bed and walked around her bedroom. Looking out the window, she saw a shooting star.

"Star light Star bright, the first star I see tonight, I wish I may, I wish I might, have the wish I wish tonight...."

She whispered her wish to the man in the moon and walked back to bed. Lying down, she saw Janine's face alongside Blake's. This time, she didn't feel hate or hurt. Instead, she drifted off to sleep and dreamt peacefully.

The next morning, she woke up with the sun shining brightly on her face. She stretched and yawned. Rolling over, she glanced at her alarm clock. It was 11:42.

"Oh shit!"

She jumped out of bed and raced to the bathroom. She showered and dressed quickly. Speeding all the way to the studio, she made it there at about 12:10. When she walked in, Fatima and Roni were leading the dancers.

"Good to see you remembered us," Fatima called when she entered the room.

"I'm sorry, I overslept."

She quickly warmed up and joined them.

Kevin watched from the side. He hadn't slept well that night either, but for entirely different reasons. His cat, Quincy, had kept him up all night, licking his face and begging for attention. Kevin had almost kicked Quincy off the bed twice for interrupting a dream about Kira. He smiled as he thought of last night's dream. He rarely ever dreamed anymore, so he knew that it had to mean something.

Kira kept glancing at Kevin throughout the entire practice. At 5:30, they called it a day and Kira dashed straight to the showers and change her clothes. As she walked out of the dressing room, she slammed into Kevin.

"We've got to stop meeting like this," she said from the floor.

"I think you're right," he said, helping her up.

"So, how' it going?"

"Great, you?"

"Good."

There was an awkward silence between the two. Fatima walked by and pushed Kira into his arms, "Just kiss and get it over with," she said as she walked away.

"Too late!" Kevin called after her, making Kira blush.

She realized that she was still in his arms and pulled away. They stood there and looked into each other's eyes. Kevin finally broke the silence.

"Do you want to go out tonight?"

"Sure."

"There's a carnival in town, do you want to go?"

"That sounds like fun."

Kira drove her car home with Kevin following her. She went inside to change and Kevin waited in the living room patiently.

They took Kevin's Toyota 4 Runner and left to go to the carnival. Kira dragged him on all the rides with the exception of the ferris wheel. She had always had this immense fear of it for some unknown reason. Kevin somehow managed to convince her to go on it with him. As they got on the ride, Kira tensed up. Kevin took her hand in his own to ease her nervousness. He talked to her throughout the ride to keep her mind of the ferris wheel. As they reached the very top, the ride jolted to a stop. Kira let out a small yelp.

"It's all right, this happens all the time."

"Are you sure?"

"I'm positive."

She looked out onto the carnival and swallowed hard. She hated heights. Burying her head in Kevin's shoulder, she said, If I don't get off this soon, I think I’m gonna throw up."

"Relax, Kira. Look at me," he instructed.

She looked up into his beautiful green eyes.

"Do you honestly think I'd let anything happen to you?"

She shook her head.

"Good, now tell me something about yourself."

"Well, uh...as you know, I'm a choreographer, but I sing and act as well."

"Really? You know, yesterday, you mentioned Sliversin, are you the Kira Samuels?"

"Yeah, I am."

"That's cool. So, how did you start choreographing?"

"Well, after I quit Sliversin, I decided I'd do something I've always wanted to do. I've always loved dancing."

"That's awesome."

"I know."

"You're not nauseated anymore, are you?"

"Not really."

"Good, then maybe you won't mind me doing this, then."

He leaned his head down to kiss her. His gentle kiss left her breathless.

They started moving again as the kiss ended. They got off without a word.

They left the carnival soon after and went to Kira's house. At the door, Kira threw her arms around Kevin's neck and kissed him passionately.

“ I'll see you tomorrow.”

“Good night Kira.”

She closed the door and leaned up against it. She'd definitely found someone that she could care for. Kevin was loving, caring, generous, incredibly sweet, gorgeous, and well built, everything she looked for in a man.

She sighed and went upstairs to go to bed and dream of Kevin.
