"Please say it's just a matter of time,
until I feel your touch,
until you let me come back to you"

Chapter Fourteen

"Where is she? I need to see her!" Howie said rushing through the waiting room doors.

Julia had fallen asleep on the small couch next to Marissa who was still awake and sitting in a chair. She pushed a strand of her red hair behind her ear that hand fallen out of her pony tail, "Howie shhh! Julia is trying to sleep here." Marissa said pointing toward Julia who surprisingly did not wake up from the sudden commotion.

The rest of the boys entered the room. Howie had obviously ran all the way to the waiting room. "Geez, Howie do you think next time you could wait?" Nick asked. He looked annoyed but his gaze was suddenly moved from looking at Howie to the person that had just joined them in the waiting room.

"Hello everyone, I understand that all of you are good friends of Natasha's?" she said gazing around the room.

"Yes," Marissa slightly smiled standing up.

"Well, my name is Nurse Roberts. But I hate how it sounds so formal so all of you can just call me by my first name Micayla," she smiled her gaze shifting more toward Nick. Nick must have noticed because he smiled and winked in return.

"Well Nurse . . . I'm sorry. Micayla, do you think you could please let me in to see Natasha now?" Howie asked. His expression didn't change. It was very much unlike Howie to be so upset about something. The only other time he had acted this way was when his sister died.

"Well, I guess I could let you see her for a few minutes. But only a few minutes because she is resting now," Micayla replied trying to sound understanding.

"Really?" Howie said his spirits lifting. A small smile crossed his face.

"Yes, but everyone on else will probably have to wait an hour in turn to see her. We do not want to overwhelm her," she replied closing the manila folder she was holding in her hands. Howie guessed it was Natasha's file.

"Go ahead," Marissa nodded at Howie letting him know it was ok to visit her first. She felt she owed it to him in a way.

"Thanks," he whispered in reply as he followed the nurse, with a smile on his face, down the hallway.
