God thought so!

Why do I need Jesus?

This is a question we all ask ourselves.
Why do we need Jesus? Here are some reasons why:
  • To be saved from our sin
    Now, you might save to yourself, "What sin?! I'm not a crook, a drug addict, into pornography, etc.
    [Whoa there! Chill a minute.] I'm under age 16 and I'm a sinner. We all are. It comes with being human. We sin, by thinking things we shouldn't, by lying, by disobeying our parents, etc. There is no way we can ever be perfect. God and His son Jesus are the only persons who will ever be perfect.
  • So we can go to Heaven
    Here we go again. I'm not that bad. I'm sure I could get into Heaven. Beep! Sorry, wrong answer. You can't. I can't. You see, to do so, we need to be perfect, and we already talked about that didn't we?
  • To have eternal life
    Now, that depends on what kind of life you want. Either way you look at it, there is eternal life. But, do you want to spend eternity in Glory or Hell. Yes, that's right, HELL. It's either one or the other.
  • Okay. How do I get there?
  • Easy!
  • But you said you can only get there if you're perfect..
  • Yeah? So...
  • And you also said no one can be perfect.
  • Wrong.
  • Now I am really confused!
  • Nobody's perfect except Jesus, we already covered that. But we can be forgiven of our sins. Yep. When we sin (everyday) we can ask God to forgive us and He will.
  • So how come I need Jesus?!?!
  • To get God's forgiveness, you've got to be saved.
    • What do I do to get saved?

    First, you tell Jesus you're a sinner.
    Second, you tell Him you're sorry.
    Third, you ask forgiveness.
    Fourth, you believe He will do for you what you asked. You can do that by praying this prayer:

    Dear Jesus,

    I'm a sinner. I'm sorry for my sins and I want to be forgiven. I want to be Your child and live in Heaven with You someday. I know that You died on the cross as payment for my sins and I believe that God raised You from the dead three days later. I'm asking You now, to come into my heart and cleanse me of my sins. Make me a new person and the kind of man/woman You would like me to be. Thank You for loving me and saving me. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.


    If you just prayed that, you're a Christian! And my new brother/sister! I can't wait to meet you in Heaven someday!

    Okay! I'm a Christian, now what?

    Now, you pray everyday. Yes I know it sounds like a drag, but you talk to God just like you'd talk to me. Stuff like, "Lord. I did really bad on my math test today. I need You to help me remember all I've learned..." just like that. You tell God when you mess up (He knows already, He just likes for His kids to confide in Him) and when you need something. and also when you accomplish something you've been working really hard at, etc.

    And you read your Bible everyday. Yes, everyday! It has stories in it that are far from boring. Where else are you going to find a story about a flood that covered the whole earth, people trying to build a tower to the sky and then all start to speak different languages, a little boy killing a man who was over 9 feet tall with a rock; a donkey that talked! All in one book?! You can't find it anywhere else! Don't worry, you'll get into it. Reading the Bible also helps us understand God and how to live in a way that pleases Him.
