Takeuchi Naoko: The creator of Sailormoon

Name: Takeuchi Naoko
Birthday: March 15
Sign: Pisces
Bloodtype: A
Education: Kyoritsu Chemical University

Takeuchi Naoko has been a manga creator for almost all her life. She first began to submit things to magazines when in high school and got her big break in college.

Naoko is a shoujo manga artist, who had enough creative genious (and a few lucky breaks) to create one of the most popular anime series' (not so popular a manga) of all time. As well, Naoko's most popular creation, BY FAR, is Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon.

Her Works Include:

•The Cherry Project
•Miss Rain
•Prism Time
•Code Name wa Sailor V
•Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon
•PQ Angels (her latest)

Naoko lives a life centered around manga, it seems. It seems to even seep into her personal life. In January '99, she married Togashi Yoshihiro who is the author of the very popular shounen manga Yuu Yuu Hakusho. She's also friends with Watase Yuu (creator of Fushigi Yuugi, Ayashi no Ceres), and other manga artists who I wish I could say I'm friends with too. :~

Naoko claimed in an interview that she was most like Usagi and the least like Michiru. In her manga she stated that she loved to collect mirrors and lamps, so much so that she wanted to have a series that dealt largely with mirrors. She seems to come from a very wealthy family because she's travelled the world, even prior to her success. People who met her at San Diego Comic Convention (Summer, '98) say that she's very introverted and shy.

Oh, and did I mention--Naoko currently really seems to dislike her old publishers at Kodansha. Some of her latest manga creations are her ranting about how much she disliked working and how Sailormoon killed her life :P~ Did you know she was very angry at how the anime directors made the Sailorstarlights boys? She stated boys could never be Sailor Senshi. In addition, she has stated that Michiru and Haruka are indeed lesbians because they made a cute couple and they quote, "have more time on their hands than the Inner Senshi." Riiiighhht ;)

Okay, that's all I know about Takeuchi-sensei off the top of my head. ^_^;
