~Up Close and Personal~ with Tiger_Zar_DA
OK. A bit about myself eh? Ready....Set....Here we go! My name is Neal Larsen. I was born in Geelong, Victoria, Australia on June 25, 1974. Now residing in Brisbane, Queensland which is on the Northeast coast of Australia.
I have 2 older brothers, 35 and 34. The oldest is married and currently lives in Sydney, New South Wales. The other currently lives at home with myself, Mom and Dad. He is mentally disabled since birth, with autism, and mild behavioral swings thrown in later on in life. I have been looking after him at home full-time for the past 8 years, while Mom and Dad work.
My Mom is currently a Store Manager for a woman's retail fashion chain. Dad is a retired Army Sergeant, currently working in 2 jobs (1 during the day, and the other for a couple of hours at night).
I am actively involved in playing Squash 3 nights a week in team league competitions (if interested, you can find my name on this Squash website www.squashmatrix.com under "Brisbane"). My other sporting interests are Tenpin Bowling, Cricket, Aussie Rules Football, Rugby (both League and Union), American Football (go the Vikings or any team that has Australian players *lol*), Formula One Motor Racing, and a bit of Baseball.
I also love to travel, go to the movies, swimming, computer games and Internet, and some dancing when given the opportunity. As some of my friends will know, I have traveled to America (twice) and Canada in 2003 and 2005, and enjoyed every second of those trips. During those times spent over there, I have been to California, Louisiana, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, Kansas, Missouri, South Carolina, New York, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Oklahoma, Minnesota, and Quebec and Ontario, Canada.
I don't have the exact figure, but, I reckon I got to meet about, or at least, 20 Tigers along the way. It was a pleasure and an honour to have met them, and I hope to meet some more the next time I fly over (aiming for 2009 at this stage).
I joined the Tigers in 2001, to not only meet more friends from around the world, but that this great club shared my motto of having fun and playing fair.
The nic I used was Tiger_Zartok. I chose Zartok because I was a Star Trek fan and I thought it was the sort of name used by 1 of the alien races (from CARDassia....get it? whence my active imagination *lol*). Everybody calls me Zar for short. Became a DA (Den Assistant) in 2002, as a representative of Australia and the South Pacific region. I would like to give special thanks to Tale and Lady43 for giving me that opportunity.
Since I started playing ladders, I have been a member of Tiger Pride from Day One. I have a great bunch of pards in this team under the wonderful leadership of CanDo and Nuke. I would not trade this team for anything. Overall, I would also like to give special thanks to the Tiger Family for the love, friendship, and happiness you have all given to me and for being one of the special parts of my life.
That's about it from me. I hope my bio didn't go into overtime *lol*. I hope everyone takes care and have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Safe New Year in 2006, and beyond. Love and God Bless you all, my friends.
Big hugs from your Aussie Tiger Friend,
Neal AKA Zar :)
