Okay, here's the basics.
The West Coast Eagles joined the AFL (which was then the VFL) in 1987. They chose the nickname 'The Eagles' because of the amount of travelling the club was required to do to play their away games.
The home guernsey is navy with gold chest panels and a white boarder. There is also an Eagle logo on the centre front. The shorts are plain navy. Socks are navy with a gold hoop at the top. The away guernsey is basically the same, except it is royal blue instead of navy blue, and the shorts are white with royal blue trim.
The current captain is Guy 'Bluey' McKenna. He replaces Eagles LEGEND John 'Woosha' Worsfold at the start of the season. Bluey's deputies are Glen 'Jako' Jakovich and Mitchell White.
The Eagles won the AFL premiership in 1992 and 1994. They also made the Grand Final in 1991, but failed to beat the Hawthorn Hawks. In the 1992 Grand Final Peter Matera was awarded the Norm Smith Medal for best on ground in the Gand Final. Dean Kemp won the award in 1994.
The West Coast Eagles have failed to produce a Brownlow medallist, even though several players have come close.
