‘click’. He stayed on the phone for several minutes, trying to figure out what just happened. He still was confused on why Ashleigh broke up with him. Suddenly the phone rang…hoping it was Ash, he picked it up. “Hello?”
“Hey Kaos.” Nick heard Brian say.
“Oh…hey B.” Nick said.
“How are you man?” Brian asked.
“How do you think I am?” Nick snapped.
“Ouch” Brian said.
“Sorry” Nick said. “It’s just that…Ash and I broke up.”
“So I heard.” Brian said. “What exactly happened?”
“Ugh. Well it started on January 4th. Maddy, BJ’s best friend, asked me to help her find a birthday present for BJ. Of course I accepted. I mean I want BJ to have a totally awesome birthday. She deserves it.” “So, obviously, Maddy started to hit on me. I was really hesitant, but Maddy told me to calm down.”
“So, what exactly happened?” Brian asked. “I mean did you give in to Maddy?”
“No. I’m not stupid.” Nick said. “I told Maddy no. But she kept insisting…that we at least talk about ‘us’”. “I told her there was no ‘us’. “But there is a ‘Nick and Ashleigh’”.
“Well?” Brian asked.
“Well, Maddy put her arms around me and kissed me.” Nick said. “I mean Maddy is a great kisser, but definitely worse than Ash.” “Then Ash stormed at us and started yelling at me.” “I tried to explain, but she broke up with me on the spot.”
“Oh Nicky, Nicky, Nicky.” Brian said. “You do understand what you did right?”
“Not really.” Nick said.
“Nick, you and Ash need to have a serious talk.”
“Okay thanks B.” Nick said.
“Yup” Brian said. “I have to go. See you at rehearsals tomorrow.”
“Yup. Bye.” Nick said.
“Nick…I don’t have anything I want to say to you.” Ash said. “Just…go away.”
“Ash” She heard.
“Tyler?” Ash asked.
“You should listen to this.” Tyler said.
“Stay out of it Tyler!” Ash yelled.
“What’s going on?” Dan asked. “Oh. It’s Nick…and Tyler?” “How could you?”
“Ashleigh is the one who should be listening to Nick!” Ty said.
“How could you even say that?” Ash asked. “He cheated on me with Maddy.”
“Yea he did. But, from the way I heard it, it was all Maddy’s fault. She’s history, trust me.” They heard. “You will never see her again.”
“BJ?” They all asked.
“Yep. Its me alright.” BJ said.
“How did you find us?” Nick asked.
“Easy, I asked AJ” BJ said.
“I’m going to have to have a talk with that guy.” Ash said. “No offense BJ, you’re totally like a sister, but he can’t keep giving out my address.”
“Speaking of talking, I want to have a talk with you.” Nick said.
“I already told you, I have nothing to say to you.” Ash said.
“Please Ashleigh.” Nick said.
“No Nick. You brought this on yourself.” Ash said.
“No Maddy Holmes brought this onto me.” Nick said.
