Kevin laughed and gave her a small hug. Gwen heard the commotion down stairs and quickly grabbed her sweatshirt on the way out of the room.
“So this is Gwen.” BJ said as Gwen came down the stairs.
“Yeah, and you must be BJ.” Gwen said softly, offering her hand to shake.
“Well we should get going, we’ll be back in a couple hours Kevin.” BJ called grabbing Gwen’s hand and pulling her towards the door.
“Bye Kevin, see you later!” Gwen said as she shut the door.
The girls entered a Limited store and started looking around. “So, you’re auditioning for Jive?” BJ asked, looking at a Denim skirt.
“Yeah, I’m really nervous about it.” Gwen replied coming out of the dressing room and looking at herself in the mirror.
“That looks really good on you! You should get it girl!” BJ exclaimed motioning to Gwen’s outfit, which consisted of a pair of bell-bottom like jeans, a fitted black T-shirt with a small sliver butterfly in the middle.
And a very comfy denim jacket with a dragon on the back and the Chinese symbols for love, life and happiness on the sleeves.
“But the jacket alone costs 60 dollars.” Gwen said unsure.
“It’s ok! You’ll get good use out of it, just buy it!” BJ cried pushing her new friend back into the dressing room.
“Ok! Ok!” Gwen stammered laughing.
“Hurry up! We’re going to get you some make up, PJ’s and a nice dress!” BJ called while walking up the register to pay for her denim skirt. As soon as Gwen came out she paid for her clothes and they left the store.
They went to about 4 more stores. Gwen got 2 pairs of PJ’s, both flannel pants and tank tops, some more jeans, tops and a long greenish blue dress with spaghetti straps. BJ got a couple of nice shirts, some skirts and a short red dress.
“Well at least we have the clothes situation under control.” BJ sighed as they walked into Afterthoughts to get some earrings and maybe some makeup.
“I haven’t been shopping for such a long time, I forgot how much fun it is.” Gwen said smiling as she picked up a case of shimmer make-up. BJ smiled at her and put a fake crown on her head as well as placing one on the top of Gwen’s.
“Now these are really stylish.” BJ joked striking a pose. Gwen just laughed and took the crown off her head. The two girls paid for their things and headed out of the mall towards BJ’s car.
“So Kev, where’d Gwen go?” Brian asked coming out of the kitchen with a pop. He’d stopped by about 30 minutes after the girls left.
“Oh, BJ took Gwen shopping.” Kevin said turning on the TV. Both boys looked up from the TV when they heard the door open. BJ and Gwen walked in laughing; their arms loaded down with shopping bags.
“Well I guess that you guys had a good time.” Kevin smiled getting up and taking some of Gwen’s bags.
“Yeah we did.” Gwen replied, smiling.
“Well I should get going.” Brian said grinning.
“Yeah me too.” BJ said, giving Gwen a quick hug. “ Call me!” She whispered.
Brian and her headed out the door and to their cars. Gwen looked up at Kevin and smiled. “I had an amazing time today.” She whispered.
Kevin put his hands on her shoulders and smiled back at her. “I’m glad, here, I’ll help you get all this stuff up to your room.” With that he picked up 4 out of her 5 bags and started up the stairs, Gwen smiled again, picked up the remaining bag and followed him.
As soon as they reached her room they began unpacking the bags.
“This must look really beautiful on you.” Kevin mumbled holding up her dress, placing it on a hanger.
Gwen blushed. “Thanks.” Gwen whispered putting her jeans, shirts and PJ’s in drawers.
Kevin grinned and put the dress in the closet. “I’m going to go get some movies, and a pizza, would you like that?” Kevin asked heading for the door.
“Yeah, sounds great.” Gwen answered smiling.
“Ok, I’ll be back in about 45 minutes.” Kevin called from the stairs.
Gwen called a soft ok and started to change into her PJ’s.
