Worried

"This is just great! Where are the kids? Where is anyone!?!" Bob Carter bellowed after coming home that morning to find his house, that normally had at least three kids in it, completely empty.

"Calm down! Let me check and see if Nick left a note." Jane was trying to calm her husband down before he had a heart-attack.

She walked in the kitchen, looked on the refrigerator , and low and behold, there was the note Nick had quickly scrawled out right before heading to Megan’s house, very early that morning. "Well, what do you know? Here is a note from Nick himself." She walked into the living room and started to read the note out loud:

" ‘ Dear Mom and Dad,

Meg got some really bad news last night. Both of her parents have died. Her mother in a plane crash, and her father in a car wreak. I was talking to her down on the beach when BJ told her about her mom and after I brought her back to the house about an hour later Brian had to tell her that her dad was also gone. After Brian told her about her dad she ran out of the house, Brian stopped me from going after her. Instead he went and came back about ten minutes later.

My heart almost broke in two looking at her face the moment she was told. I can’t possibly imagine what that must be like. But we are going to help her through this.

Meg wants us all to spend the night at her house so me and the guys have carried the twins over to her house and we are all staying over there. The other guys are here too. Don’t worry! It is like 12:30 in the morning and I dont think we’ll be going to bed anytime soon, so don’t expect us to come home anytime soon. We are all going to be asleep. And please don’t call, you really don’t want to wake Meg up, especially after this last night.

Well, I guess I’ll see ya when I see ya.

Love,

Nick’"

Bob looked relived. He knew where everyone was and that nothing was going to hurt any of his children. All nine of them where over at Megs’ house. Poor Megs!

Both her parents, at the same time on the same night, each probably thinking that the other would be around to take care of their little girl.

But that was their responsibility from now on. "Well, lets take the boys advice and just let them all sleep. They probably need it." He was saying to his wife.

"Fine with me, I trust them all." She smiled at her husband. "Lets go out for breakfast! It isn’t every morning that we don’t have half the neighbourhood "kids" at our house." With that they left the kids at Megan’s house and went out to breakfast, talking about the fact that they were Megan’s legal guardians now.
