Just The Beginning

“Tasha! Lets go!” Brian Littrell yelled up the stairs.

Tasha grabbed the last bag and threw it over her shoulder, making sure she had everything she needed for the next four weeks. Satisfied she left the room, shutting the door behind her and walked down the stairs.

“It’s about time you came down here. I thought I was gonna have to go up after you.” Brian said, grinning.

“Funny, Rok. Let’s go!” She walked out the front door and out to the car. She had to shield her gray eyes from the Florida sun as she put that last bag in the back of Brian’s Jeep.

Brian followed her out the door and made sure that the door was shut behind him.

“We better go. Kevin is gonna be pissed if we’re late.”

“Bri, I hate to break this to you but we are already late.” Brian looked at his watch.

“Oh crap! Come on, get in the car. He’s gonna kill us!”

Tasha laughed and got in the passenger’s seat.

At the studio...

“Where are they?! They are fifteen minutes late! I’m gonna kill them when they get here!” Kevin grumbled.

AJ laughed. “Hey Tash, aren’t you glad that Brian didn’t drive the speed limit? It could be you that Kev’s talking about.”

Just then, Nick’s green Dodge Durango pulled into the parking lot and over to the waiting tour bus. As soon as it came to a complete stop Charity was out of the car and getting their stuff out of the back.

“It’s his fault we are late. He forgot to set his alarm. So when I went over there to leave he was still asleep. Kill him, not me.”

Nick just starred at her. Until she threw his bag at him and almost knocked him over.

In a matter of minutes they had all their stuff on the bus and they had all the cars parked at the back of the studio.

“Come on, lets get going, or we are gonna be later then we already are.” Travis, the driver, said.

They all loaded on the bus and sat down. Tasha, Charity, Nick and Brian all went to the back room. “Traitor” Nick said as he sat next to Tasha on the couch.

“Hey! Kevin was gonna kill me with his eyes if I didn’t tell him.”

“Damn right I would have!” Kevin called from the front of the bus.

“You’re still a traitor.”

“Fine, you can think that.” She turned to Brian, who had been watching the whole exchange. “Where are we going first?”

“Well, we are gonna head up to Maine and then travel back down doing shows and stuff as we make our way back down towards home.”

“So basically we have a REALLY long drive ahead of us?”

“Yeah. Basically.”

She buried her head in his shoulder. “Oh god!”

“Hey Tash! Let’s set up the Nintendo!” Nick said,

“Sure!” That was one thing that made the four of them great friends. They all got along. Tasha and Nick would play Nintendo and Charity would whine to Brian and then after a while she would play Nintendo.

They set up the Nintendo and started playing. “ Prepare to get your butt kicked, Harper!”

“In your dreams Carter!”

“Nick, I think that’s a challenge.” Brian said, laughing.

“I think so too!” Charity said, her head still rested on Brian’s shoulder. Tasha sent them both evil looks before turning back the TV set.

“I’m glad that your parents agreed to let you come one tour with us. A week was not enough time to spend with your best friend.” Brian said.

“No kidding! I’m glad that we came too. I just can’t believe that my mom almost didn’t let me come.”

“I know. What did you tell to get her to change her mind.”

“Nothing much, I just had Jane talk to her and then told her that if she didn’t give me her permission that I was gonna go anyway and never speak to her again.”

Brian looked at her with disbelief. “You’re kidding, right?” Charity nodded. “OK, good.”

“I actually told her that it was just you and the guys and that if anything did happen to me she could hold you responsible.”

“Oh, that’s a lot better, CJ.”

“I know.” She grinned at him and he just shook his head.

Hours and hours later...

“Are we there yet?” Nick whined.

“NO!!!” Everyone on the bus yelled.

“OK, OK. But when are we gonna get there?” He whined again.

“Hey, Nicks, you want some cheese to go with that whine?”

“Very funny, CJ. But now that you mention it I haven’t ate in...” He looked at his watch “...about an hour and a half. I’m hungry!”

Everyone gave Charity a look while Nick bounded out of the room to find something to eat. “At least he’s not whining about how long the trip is.”

“As much as I hate to say this, she has a point.” Kevin said, looking up from the book he was reading.

“Thanks, Kev...I think.” They all laughed a little and then went back to what they had been doing. Kevin went back to his book. AJ went back to figuring out what color to dye his hair before the show the next night. Brian and Tasha went back to playing Nintendo. Howie was asleep in his bunk and Nick was eating.

An hour later....

“WE”RE HERE!” Travis yelled from the front, starling Howie, causing him to fall out of his bunk.

“D, you really gotta work on that landing.” AJ said as he helped his friend up off the floor, just in time to avoid being trampled by an anxious Nick.

“Whoa! Nick hold up. Maybe you haven’t noticed but there are about 150 screaming girls outside. Unless you want to be road kill, I’d stay on the bus until they get security.” Kevin said.

“Oh, yeah. Forgot about that.”

“Nicky, sometimes I wonder about you.” Charity said, laughing.

“Only sometimes? Looks like I’m losing my touch.” Charity just rolled her eyes.

“You two are too much sometimes. I can see why you are best friends.” Howie said.

“And you get to spend four weeks with all four of us, together. Believe me. This is just the beginning."
