The Airport

Present

We all piled into the vans and headed to the airport. When we got there we gave the crew our bags so that they could check them. We didn’t want to risk being recognized.

We made out way to our gate. As we approached the seating area, Brianna pulled on my arm. She had spotted a blond boy looking out the window. I let go of her hand and watched as she walked soundlessly over to where he was sitting.

"BOO!!!" Aaron jumped about three feet in the air. This sent Brianna into a fit of laughter. I must admit, it was pretty funny.

"Oh hi, Bree. You’re going to get it later! You know that, right?" he said, smiling at her.

"Yeah I know. But I couldn’t help it. It’s worth it!"

"Well do I get a hug or what?"

"Of course!" I watched the two of them hug each other.

Nick’s mother, Jane walks over and says hi, but then says that she has to go because BJ. Nick’s little sister, had a photo shoot and needed to be picked up, She went over and said good bye to Bree and Aaron. She then heads off in the direction of the parking lot.

Soon after she leaves the crew shows up and we all settle down to wait. There aren’t any fans. No one knew we were leaving. Plus, it’s the middle of the week. They are all in school. Unlike Bree, who has a tutor, even when we are home.

After almost 45 minutes of waiting, a crackle came over the PA system. "Flight 3145, to Dallas, Texas and onto Portland, Oregon, will now begin boarding."

That’s us. We are going to Portland and then, after a seven hour lay over, we are catching a plane up to Vancouver BC, where our third North American tour is going to kick off.

"OK, everybody! Lets go!" Kevin directs. We gather all of our jackets and carry-ons and then head towards the terminal.

Once we are on the plane and Bree is situated in her seat between Nick and I, she asks, "How long are we going to be in Portland?"

"About seven hours."

"YAY! I LOVE PORTLAND!!!"
